Here's a suggestion:
Perhaps the flash introdction (the quivering SBR logo) should only appear upon a visitor's inititial entrance into the site? It does get a bit distracting when jumping from post to post. Perhaps a Javascript that loaded the full-on quivery flash if HTTP referer were anything other than sbrforum.com and otherwise loaded the book list flash?

I bet the guys running 486's on dial-up are still waiting for the page to load so they can have a whinge.

I don't use flash and it's a bit distracting. I agree.

Dave - can the flash sequence be customisable for each user?
Well, what I mean is that can you configure BBD's screen to have various pictures of Barry Bonds each time he comes on the site?

I didn't even notice it until I saw this post. I have no problem with it. Unlike Razz's avatar - that drives me NUTS!!!

I find it to be not just fancy, but also shmancy.

Good suggestion Ganch.
Maybe we can get it to where it only loads the "SBR slot machine effect" on the Main index page. So we dont have to see it flashing every page change.
Then no matter what page your on, we can have it go through each books information flash. I dont mind that.
It just gets old seeing the opening flash every page change.

Macromedia Mayhem
Okay, I have to admit that the rolley-scrolly-spinny-thingy, in other words the header that comes-up at the top of each page when you surf this forum DID look cool the very first time I saw it. But now I’ve seen it like 15 hundred times…I’m not so sure anymore.
IMHO sometimes less is ( DEFINITELY) more!
