HOF- Gary Carter has brain tumor-is he next?
There have been a lot of deaths going on lately. Carter has to go to Duke University Medical Center to see if they're cancerous or not (small multiple brain tumors). "The Kid" was a great Montreal Expos star and won a championship with the Mets in 1986.
The Mets had a rowdy group of guys and Carter was considered a straight laced good guy. Hopefully we'll hear good news. Fingers crossed for "The Kid"

Even if I was in my early 20's, I'd still know who he is because I'm a sports fan. I know about the past and the present. It's not like he played in the 1950's--christ
i remember him for sure. he was a straight laced guy for sure, he never had a single sin if i heard correct. in fact i heard he was brutally cursed but never hurt anyone. in fact if it was 1980's no one would have ever heard of the dude, yet still he wouldnt have hurt anyone. weird stuff.
He's one of all the all time greatest catchers in the game. A hall of famer.....
Being from Canada I certainly remember Gary Carter.
About when I was 7-8 years old and beginning to really get into baseball Gary was in his prime.
I only saw him play once at the BIG O & I recall him crouching into his stance & my Father remarking "Take a good look at Gary son, this might be the last time you see him in person."
It was.
I also remember what a sad day it was when we lost the Expos.
Our loss today, I believe is equally as sad.

Life is not fair.
Of all the train-wrecks on the 1986 Mets, Gary Carter is the one to go. Great guy, great player, tough guy. His performance in Game 6 of the 1986 World Series was just perfect. Fouled off Clemens early to wear him out, clutch single when Mets were down to last out, cheered on his teammates en route to the big comeback.
RIP, Kid.
