    I'm interested to know how one person won $5.8 million and the story doesn't say. It's not as though someone walks up to the table out of the blue and decides to play for $25,000 a hand.

    high roller on a big-stakes table didn't get cut off soon enough. probably playing 50k or 100k a hand and they probably increased his limit once he went on a good run, thinking his luck would turn.

    People definitely do walk up to the table and just bet $25,000 a hand. It happens all the time....

    They just usually end up losing.

    Guy had to be betting 100 grand plus, it is really tough to go on a +50 hands sitting.

    Would be very interested in seeing the player's rating on computer. That is a lot of money for a casino to lose in 21. Curious if it was done over a long trip or quick shot. Leaning toward a long trip as most casinos max out their high end credit players at 100 k a hand unless an exception is granted by multiple execs.

    I last visited The Tropicana in January and saw plenty of advertising for High Limit Blackjack & Craps, and "The Home For The Serious Player" I just laughed, as their High Limit area was pretty dead, aside from the Asian's playing Baccarat.

    I love The Trop, but the place is a dump. Who would seriously bring all that bank to their BJ tables, especially when Caesars and Bogata are minutes away.

    Many moons ago, my cousin was a dealer at Merv Griffins Casino in Paradise Island in the Bahamas. A Saudi prince bet $2million one hand... lost it, bet another $2million, lost that. Bet $5 million, doubled down and won. Stopped playing and the casino cut him a check for $6 million. My cousin told me that the guy never cashed the check...

    I can't remember the exact number but that prince was making like a million dollars an hour on oil wells. It was a sick number...
