The amount of info and handicapping discussion are big pluses.
The negatives are the lack of valuable content.

The Pros for me are the ability to observe a unique social community, receive feedback on thoughts related to wagering, and learn something new every now and then.
The Cons are the fact that many people seem to take this place very seriously. The fact that there are a few undesirable people around is just a natural truth of every social setting. Internet communications are never going to resemble real-life interactions, so keep the expectations low, I say.
Overall, SBR is a cool place and I'm glad it exists. Shout outs to CrazyL, Fishhead, Smitch, AMBlai, and all you other great posters. You know who you are.

Good source of gambling information and advice. Good for entertainment as well.
Spend too much time on forum though, should be out creating new income sources.

Cons: When I talk myself out of a pick because someone on here does a nice writeup with spell check and makes me think I am wrong!
I have learned that just because a majority of the people in the forum are on a game does NOT mean its a public play. The good, experienced cappers in here are not the public... |

This forum is far below the level one might expect from SBR. If anything, its general dumbed down tone might convince people to gamble irresponsibly.
I'm not counting the always excellent Ganch and Justin as counterweights, because they're paid by SBR.

Geez Mike, the more I read from you the sorrier I end up feeling for you. First of all you're a bigot, who can't express dissatisfaction with someone by making astute, rational comments; you prefer to attack people based on their sexuality. Then the fact that you're holding a grudge about a chat room comment regarding the marriage of two people across the country seems to demonstrate that you only have a vicarious sex life yourself. The trifecta comes when you're super proud of stiffing CreditWagering for a dime when there's no doubt you would've cashed out from them had you been able to pick winners.
I've got some great friends, Mike. Sadly we're all grown up and spread out now, so I figured I'd find a new crowd amongst which to break balls. It seems like you're projecting some of your own qualities on me, based on how seriously you take SBR, you may indeed be the one around here lacking real friends. Oh, and I forgot to mention that http://www.sbrodds.com/ is, in my opinion, the crown jewel of SBR. I'm sure the sportsbook reviews are crucial for the newbies, and the forum/chat room is great for us cronies, but the line history there is priceless. My hat is off to all the man-hours that must have been expended in coding it. |

Cons - we cant make wagers with other posters here and there anymore on SBR. I dont think anythings wrong with it if SBR claims they are not liable.

I understand, but why not use a feature like Matchbook's X-Bet and have a trusted third party set it up for you guys? That way, there's no possible chance of anyone getting stiffed and everyone is happy.
