I don't understand this move.

Redick is an NBA bust, he's too soft and can't create his own shots or when he does he can't hit from NBA distance.

Magic already have depth with 12 guys that could step in and give better minutes.

he is not a great player but will play 12+ years in the league it is not like this guy is on the way out of the NBA

I wouldnt be surprised though if (in the near future) he starts to get it together. Its just unreal how he dropped from college star, to riding the pine every game. I guess the big stage absolutely physced him out. Kid has a great shot.
