Default Got my first call today...

Well I got my first call from a prerecorded sportsbook this evening. No doubt, a monumental event in any degenerate's life.

It was from ABC sportsbook...anyone ever gotten a call from them too.

At first i was a little bit troubled by it but then realized that it wasn't a live person and that it was on the weekend so there really was no harm to it. But I might start worrying if i get a frenzy of calls, especially during my peak mintues and with real life pushy operators.

Has that happened to anyone before?

I not only dislike phone calls but I can imagine if you are trying to stay discrete with your sportsbetting they can get you into a lot of trouble with your loved one.

Not in my case though I still hate phone calls.

That's weird. I've dealt with ABC for years and never had a phone call. Then again, I've won a ton of money there so maybe they have me on some kind of "sharp" list.

Personally, I like when the sportsbooks call. I find that I have some leverage in these situations because they are pushing hard for deposits and maybe trying to meet some quota or something. I have often been able to work out extra good bonus deals by knowing what buttons to push. Other times I have been able to get other complaints corrected - like I've gotten my limits raised as a result of these calls before. It's just business for me.

But I can understand how a rec player would get pissed off at random calls getting picked up by his family.

TIP #1: If you don't like the phone calls, NEVER sign up at Royal.

That is not true... Even Cris calls... Many sportsbook such as First Fidelity got to where they are thanks to cold calling.

If you don't want a sportsbook to call you just tell the CS people to put a note into your account, or at least ask for a supervisor or manager to do it.
When you sign up make sure to give your real number just in case the sportsbook needs to get in touch with you for something urgent, just tell them to be really discreete when they call, and if they can't respect that close your account ASAP.

JJ my wife knows I use sportsbooks. I use to have a problem with my wife way back when. I was a bit reckless and gambling actually started to ruin my life. But with age I became very disaplined. I have a set bankroll I dont go over its limit and developed good money management skills. Once football season ends so does my gambling till next season. I love to wager but I love my money more.

I hate calls as much as anyone, I even hate the sound of a telephone ringing ( or whatever they do now).

The postal mail is unreal ! I must be on every list there is. I get 2-3 of the the same thing from books I've never heard off !

I'll bet we get this mail 20 years after we are dead, provided your wife (etc.) doesn't move. Standard (junk) mail doesn't get forwarded by PO. If your family moved it goes in the recycling bin, I know, I used to work at PO.
