Default betting a line error

is it considered bad or immoral somehow to bet a line thats too high or too low

last week i was on a certain book, i bet liverpool at +280 vs everton. the line should have been liverpool even. the book is not a huge book, and i didnt know it was the end of the world to place the bet, but i knew it was off

i got a call from the book just chastising me and telling me if i ever did it again, id be banned.

isnt this like cheating on your wife, then yelling at her for checking your emails and finding out. is this their error or mine?

honest opinions appreciated

less hassle to let them know, they may throw you a bone. your bet will be cancelled anyway

It's generally frowned upon. 999/1000 times the bet will be cancelled anyway. The risk you run is that you are now considered a possible shot taker with that book...

If the book is 5 dimes you should pop that line as much as you can - shortly afterwards you'll get a direct line to God.

You're lucky that's all they did. Some books will close your account immediately...

I would prefer to notify the book ... in most cases I get a free play with no rollover

I wonder if you bet the WSox at -10000 if they'd cancel your acct. Somehow I doubt it.

Ridiculous.

Always best to call a book to report the line and see if they'll throw a freeplay your way.
