Default The Final Countdown for the offshore gambling industry

Wow,

After 10 years of doing this for a living , worked at the biggest books partied with book owners , worked with G Kaplan when BOS had 200 players , when Betus was buying credit packages from NY bookies to start their business in Little Nasa.

Guys I have been around the block and its been a good run I just wish I saved up more money than what I did.

Time is up , books cant even get money via MG or WU payouts take too long , its over boys this will never be what it used too .

I see the crackdown everyday how deposits cannot be proccesed , how payouts get stuck somehow.

I am going for my last season in this industry and gonna make a few moves here and there and sell my sheets of players but this done people.

Sad Sad

I feel you are jumping the gun here sir. The books will figure out a new method to keep things going. All it will take is a bit of work on there part.

Sure there will be ways , but everytime something like this happens the industry losses a big % of clients.

When the neteller thing happened about 25% of the industry didnt play again.
Wu and MG being bitches another 35% to 45% bottom line is we are not making money like we used I was making 4 years ago what I am making now and I make pretty good money now 4 years ago anybody in the book industry here at Costa Rica you would see us partying in limos , with 3 model bitches gambling having fun .

Now we all just drink Corona s at the M hotel or the White House .

Times have changed take it from someone that was there when it was starting

Other industries were in the same position after the laws changed, however those business just adapted accordingly and continued to thrive. The bottom line is that books need to explore other avenues and be very creative doing it.

$1000 check received from MB today, along with a $1000 MG from DSI. It's rough, but not dead yet (both took 7-9 days).

On Both parts.

Books offer various options ... customers simply dont want to take the extra step .... if we all cooperate it would be a lot easier process .... but unfortunately it isnt.

it's not that difficult, though i imagine it's no longer worth the effort for some.

perhaps when the US gov't realizes it is bankrupt it may legalize and tax, though i'm not sure i really like that idea either.

I disagree. I think that rec gamblers that play at Bodog or played at BOS have left. Lets be honest. If you are a 300-1000 a game player and need 10 Dimes offshore it is not that tough. 6-7 Dime bank wire and a couple moneygrams. What is so hard?? Why do people think that if they have to leave their house that it is tough to deposit. NT is not coming back. I know it was easy. But Cmon guys you have to get dressed and go to the bank or the WU office sometimes. I will give you 1 LOCK. WU and MG will never GO AWAY !!! You know why. As long as their are illegal immigrants and people with work visas there will always be a way to send money to other countries. BOOKS WILL HAVE AGENTS IN MEXICO where they will never be able to stop money going there. LOCK THAT UP!!!!

If the end is near for "offshore" books, Americans will need to be creative and find ways to play at "legit" books (UK & Australian).

Where there's a will there's a way.

All I am saying is that people are getting tired of having to jump through hoops to send funds.

In the end frustration and waiting 21 days for a payout will be the what kills this

With the Current financial crisis and real possibility that the Democrats take over the entire government during the near future, the landscape U.S. politics and economy will be changed forever.
(one example of the changing economy is: look at all the bank mergers! The biggest banks are swallowing up the small banks and thus becoming behemoaths. Means less competition, higher interest rates on everything, etc)

It's impossible to predict what will happen to the wagering industry once the dust of this financial crisis has settled. (and yes, the convenient-for-some, never-ending war on terror is part of the financial crisis)

The government under the Democrats might be desperate for more revenue in order to pay for social programs such as healthcare for all, etc. Hence, legalizing internet gambling could even become plausible If enough people were out-of-work and declaring bankruptcy as we slide into a severe recession, those Religious Right voters might actually be more concerned about the economy instead of prying into other's personal lives.

Or these big banks get so powerful that they tell the Republican politicians to Phuk off regarding requirements to spend resources tracking sportsbooks transactions.

There are many new possibilities regarding future outcome now that the Republicans have damaged the economy and plunged us into costly and mis-managed wars. Remember, follow the money

If anyone is having trouble funding a book. I urge them to give Sam at BlackDog a call. See if you qualify for credit. You will not have the deposit problems with credit. If you only play at post-up shops trust me adding a credit shop is a good diversifying. It can't hurt. Them being a small shop too - they can cater to a customer more and in turn Payouts are smoother.

I'll just move to Vegas!

Hopefully Atlantic City will get help from Jersey and the Feds and open up sportsbooks! Then I can go there every weekend!

i've been playing since 1995 offshore and let me tell you...today is STILL much better than then.

I've heard this argument before, when paypal went away, again when neteller died, and again when the OEGA or whatever its called was passed, and you know what, i've played through it all.

Where there is a will...there is a way!

And Cashier's checks will never EVER go away, i can send via fed ex to deposit, you can send via fed ex to pay me. Case closed.

Book business hasn't been the same for sharp players like me nowadays. In the old times I used to request payouts 3 times a week. This year with all the squares going all in frequently I request a payout everyday with all the free money that's available from all the squares losing. The sharp player is thriving in times like these.

Since neteller went away nothing at all has changed for me as a gambler. I just go to 1 of a million WU or MG locations to deposit up to 2000. Then when I want to get paid I just have a little patience and wait a week. Its really not bad at all if you ask me. I know its harder on the books part but for me it is very easy.

If only everything in life was as easy as funding and getting payouts from offshore books!

I agree 100%, I have had absolutely no problems whatsoever depositing or collecting from the book I play at.

After a day spent watching cnbc and stock boards, this thread actually seems pretty well timed.

My fear is this, the best book, bar none, line wise is matchbook. What kind of liquidity and growth can you expect when you don't even take mg or wu.This would not be the first exchange to go down.

I would love to hear some opinions on matchbooks future.

The number of books worth playing at now seems to decline each month.I used to fund 7-9 books to line shop.I still have my favorites but I wonder how long before we see another BOS type situation,.
