theres lots of good canidates out there for this one. i think Heath Schuller was the worst #1 pick of all time.

Ryan Leaf because he not only was God awful,he diseased all the players around him with his pissy attitude.Tod Marinovich was another dud.The kid never ate a twinkie or a bic mac in his life because his dad forbid him to do so but he turns into a crack addict after he's cut and still has a ton of free contract money and signing bonuses he never performed for.Then you have Tony Mandarich.He was 330#and not an ounce of fat on him and he get's off the roids and goes down to 280# and looks fat.He pulled a good acting job to get the $$$$$ and then he figured he better get off the roids so he doesn't croak like his brother did who played in the CFL and was on roids.

Hmmm,I think if someone gave me a huge signing bonus I would go through the motions for a year and bomb out and get cut and go into seclusion at some lake home far away from the crowds and live happily ever after with the 6 million I stole.My knees and joints would be in great shape at 40 too instead of being a feeb.

Years ago there used to be some really bad #1 picks.Hell,Green Bay about 25 years ago drafted Bruce Clark a Penn State?linebacker and he never even showed up.

Alexandre Daigle jumps right to mind for me - he was supposed to be the next Lemieux but barely got out of the starting blocks - but he did have a bit of a career and I'm sure there are better examples out there.

Yeah, if we're stricly talking #1 overall, I'd go with Ki-jana Carter. To me, too much risk taking a RB 1st overall especially when like the running quarterback, their career is over at 30. And there are so many late round RB's that have just as solid numbers. In fact, I could probably name more good RB's taken in Round 2 and beyond than I could good RB's like William Green and Thomas Jones that were taken in round 1.

I don't think you can count any baseball #1's overall because it is such a much a bigger crapshoot than football. Over 50% of teams picks they know going in, these guys will never be on their team. granted with #1 overall, they are not thinking that, but they know it will be a minimum of 4 years before they see him again anyway.

Can't think of any absolute horrible #1 overalls in the NBA. That is much eassier to gage as far as the transition than other sports. There have been some busts, but ever #1 overall in the NBA the last 15 years has at least had a somewhat productive carrer. Before 15 years ago, it's safe to say it never even happened anyway. Even Glenn Robinson, Derrick Coleman, and Larry Johnson had decent careers. Maybe not living up to #1 overall, but far from a complete bust.

Well, Olowankandi sucks, but at least he's still in the NBA at 30 years of age and 2 contracts later. I swear if someone is 7 feet tall nowadays, they will be a lottery pick no matter what talent they lack. Actually, I haven't seen him in awhile, is he not in the NBA now or is he hurt? I thought he was on the T-wolves. I remember that dumbass got arrested here in Indy at one of the clubs downtown awhile back. That was great.

I'm not too familiar with "Never nervous Pervis" I just know he had a fantastic college career. If he didn't play past his 1 st contract of 3 years, then yes he's a bust. if you're out of the league by age 25, you're a bust.

They are still bad picks, but to be a bust, you must be horrific. Thats why Leaf albeit not #1 overall is rated the biggest bust in the history of sports because he did everything wrong that he could possibly do.

Piss off teamates from Day 1: Check
Play horribly: Check
Start a fist fight with the media: Check

I mean, the guy didn't make one correct decision from the time he hit the podium in New York.

Ellison played about 12 years I think.

Although he had a bad career he had one unbelievable year for the Bullets, he may have been all NBA he averaged like 20, 11 and 3 blocks a game his third year in the league

heres a bad one albeit certainly not the worst one ever hockey 1980 mtl canadiens didnt pick dennis savard went for doug wickenhouser he wasnt bad but it was a terrible pick. savard ends up in the hall of fame wickenhouser died very young.........ask the question in 5 years and and theyll be a legitimate shot that houston texans will be a popular anwser.

I like what Houston's done so far in the draft, but lets not get ahead of ourselves here.

I like their 1st four picks though. Slacker, do you think getting Williams over Bush has something top do with Indy. Thats a quick way to neutralize a great offense. Even when the Colts D was horrific, we got a huge sack for a fumble play from Freeney about 1 every couple weeks,. HUGE

To me, Bush is more like a Dante Hall anyway. Really fast and elusive. Will make 3 or 4 great plays in a year.

Williams will make more than that. On a team with alot of needs, I like what they have done so far if I was a Texan fan. But I'm not.

TGO, right on. Titans, Jags, & Texans are all gunning for Indy right now. Taking Williams #1 has everything to do with beating the Colts. Besides that, it was a more critical need for them. They didn't need a QB. Their RB is good enough to not need a player like Bush. They really need the O-Line and defensive help more than anything. They are putting the pieces in place.

I'm not happy about it at all. I hope the Texans fall short, because they are just going to be a thorn in Indy's side in the games to come. But, it's looking like they are making progress, and there's a future in Houston, but at least not for a year or two.

Al Masters, I didn't mean any offense. I just get wound up talking about this stuff sometimes. I didn't mean anything personal. Just trying to stress my own opinion.

It won't be the first time I've rubbed someone the wrong way with my opinions, and I'm sure it won't be the last. Keep posting, next time I'll be on your side of the argument!
