As bad as Lackey is, Hughes is by far the worst pitcher I've seen this year. I bitched about how terrible this guy was last year when everyone thought he was good. Not that his velocity won't go up and he'll improve, but he's nothing like yankee fans thought he was.

Hughes had a poor season last year. His record looked good due to run support.
He pitched well for the first six starts or so, and was flat out bad after that.

Hughes has been awful since the middle of last season. Got killed by the Rangers in the ALCS. He's been really inconsistent his entire career, and the excuses that he's still young are getting old very quickly.
