Default how long would u assume it takes to be recognized as a dependable capper

im 18 years old ive been sports handicapping since
i was 16 on a high level, 14 for fun. i see everyone
on this forum crying over loosing 10 or so bets in a row,
my advice to them would be stop betting its not for you,
in 4 years Ive never lost more than 6 in a row. this message
isn't to come off as ignorant or confident. im only one of which.
I just actively started posting on this forum last month and last
week i noticed the spreadsheet, i ended up making my own off
excel, so i have a copy of my spreadsheet since last Sunday. to
you guys none of these picks are probably valid but Ive been posting
picks so you can take a look back. i pick about 55-60% winners most
of the time and on average take home about 500 a week on average
over the past 6 months, im hoping maybe i can be seen as not just a
kid and maybe i can help some of you guys out, ill try to post my picks
every morning when i do wager

I wasn't meaning to be rude or sarcastic, I just wondered why people want to share their picks for anything else but fun, what's the upside?

There's no upside Deuce, as soon as you have two losing weeks people call you a cvnt. Ask Dave/USCKINGS

Everybody hopes to get paid, they don't realize that the only idiots that bet on sports all the time are barrelled in degens and the guys with tons of money are smart enough to realize you cant win sports gambling long-term so they either become bookies or start sports betting forums which charge the books to advertise

Relax uscfan every1 appreciates the effort you put in but when you put in that much effort then divebomb 2-7 you will always get some light jabs from the ppl that followed your picks, expect that and either accept it or don't post your picks. I posted Murray to win the US Open and even though he was a +200 underdog I got 3 days of jabs about how bad that pick was AND THAT'S WHEN I WAS 11-3 THE PREVIOUS 2 WEEKS POSTED PICKS IN THE HANDICAPPING CONTEST, posting picks is fun b/c when you win there are always tons of compliments but when ya lose there's always jabs, just the way it is, plus you get to see how popular or unpopular your side of the action is, which is cool to know

I think the original question is spurious in as much as, 'How long does it take to become a RESPECTED capper,' would be a better question.

This thread is classic Players Talk.

    For OP:

    1. You won't be respected as a human being, much less as a handicapper, until you learn to write like you aren't a 12 year old with a speed problem.

    2. You will lose 10 in a row at some point no matter how good of a handicapper you are. Thinking you won't makes it highly doubtful you are +EV at sports.

    For Betlittleimbroke,

Just because you suck at sports betting doesn't make it impossible for others to find +EV bets on a consistent basis.

It really all comes to down to the question of what you want: attention on a sports forum or to make money. It seems most people here prefer the first.

i can show u payout and deposit screen shots from 2 years that i have saved in photobucket along with a handful of wagers, ive never lost more than 6 in a row because i don't chase loses like a dumbshit, i am by far a +ev sports bettor. if i ever lost 10 in a row id probably give up . Realistically you can use a lot of statistics, tenancy's and sports smarts when it comes to betting, but if you throw everything aside you have a 50% chance of winning. start flipping that quarter, ill be dead before you get heads 10 times

i dont give a flying shit about credibility but its said on this forum that people trust a select few for picks, i just feel i can be a person that can be trusted, i don't care if i get my cookie or not.

Correct. You know nothing about statistics. Unless you've got an exceedingly terminal case of cancer, that is.

It's 1023-1. You obviously don't value your life. Somebody wins the 15,000,000,-1 lotto every week.

my point being is id argue that anyone that looses 10 wagers in a row is 2 things

    1) someone who nos absolutely nothing about sports betting
    2) someone who is a average bettor that had 3-4 bad losses and chased by taking a bunch of thoughtless wagers to cover a loss

So do you think every lotto winner bought every ticket? You dont seem to understand coin flipping is 50-50. If tails is hit 99 times in a row it's still 50-50 next spin.

You might be right but using coin flipping is the wrong comparison model.

yes but again my point isnt to say its impossible to loose 10 in a row , my point is that if you do your homework you should never loose 10 in a row. someone had a comment here that if you've never lost 10 in a row your probably a lying shit and arnt a even bettor

I personally think it's possible to lose ten wagers in a row. Depending on your bankroll and money management it should be possible to overcome ten losses in a row.
