After the beating books took on teasers last week, the Golden Nugget lowered the odds on their teasers. The trick though - they are trying to make it retroactive. If your ticket says "$100 pays $400" (on a 4-team teaser, pay 100 win 300 for 400 payout), they are trying to pay less - not what is printed on the ticket.
They weren't able to sort this out in any reasonable amount of time. If you are getting screwed by these guys on this, go straight to the gaming commission. This is one of the rare instances when LV Gaming Commission can help - the ticket must pay what it says, not what the sportsbook wants it to say. |

SBR should boycott the Golden Nugget for next year's SBR Bash for this criminal behavior.
I nominate the Bellagio. |

I'll settle for the Wynn or Venetian, taco. If worse comes to worse, I may be willing to accept the Palazzo as well...

Look on the bright side (if there is one) Justin. At least you haven't been barred from there yet.
All joking aside though. That take some balls for them to do that knowing it's totally against the rules, and them being "regulated" like they are.

Good job, Golden Nugget.
Although it's a nice looking place by downtown standards, I have found the customer service to be consistently appalling there over the last couple years. It's not particularly surprising that they've escalated to pure theft.

Maybe i'm being a bit naive but if the solution is simply to go to The Gaming Comission, why would they try to pull this stunt to start with?
Seems to me the negative publicity far outweighs any potential gains from one weeks football when, all they had to do was do it on the quiet next Monday and tell nobody and take it from there. It seems an amateurish move from a company that you would think would know better. Maybe I'm missing something? |

The gaming commission certainly knows about the change in odds as well since any changes of that sort first need to be approved by them...

i had a 3-teamer (sf/ten/dal) there this weekend which had this same problem. i was told that yes, they did lower the odds, but never intended for it to affect tickets which had already been sold. apparently it was an error in the software. they were helpful and apologized to me for the inconvenience when i pointed out the error - said they were aware of the problem and paid me the difference without an argument.

Which makes you wonder if this was a crazy decision by someone in upper management whose head will subsequently roll. The downside to this sort of publicity for The GN is imeasurable.

Thats a pretty sharp reduction in the odds from 400 to 300???

It is certainly within the realm of possibility that it was an honest programming error. However, that it an extremely poorly written DB if changing the payout odds does indeed alter existing tickets in the system...

My cynicism and lack of trust for anything Tillman Fertita is involved in makes me think it's nothing short of a wink-wink, ooops, we made a mistake errors with the GN just hoping that at least some customers don't complain and take the smaller payouts. Don't trust that little fruitcake at all.
