Default Panthers at Vikings(-3.5)

I don't get it. Panthers getting back Steve Smith. I would never lay 3.5 with Tavares Jackson at QB.

Panthers are underrated and Minny is overrated. I like Carolina to cover and win

I jumped on this as it came out. I smell something bad, though, with the line being at 3.5. Carolina is going to have some trouble - if not more trouble - than they did vs the Bears running the football... They did do a good job, despite it being tough going.
However, they are good enough defensively to be in the game. 3.5 is a lot to give a good team versus a team that is having trouble scoring touchdowns - especially late in a football game.
Minne is desperate for a win - Carolina isn't, that's my only real worry. I think Carolina might not play that great, although the win versus the Bears was very impressive.

Smith coming back can certainly help them vertically - but I'm a bit concerned about his 'game speed' since this is essentially his first game in a long time.

I have to go over the tape of both teams again, anyway - but right now I feel comfortable with Carolina and the points, but I think getting into handicapping it more I'm going to wish I stayed away:>.
For now, thought, I like Carolina and the points.

Adrian Peterson will need to have 200+ yards rushing for the Vikings to win this game. You can't count on Tavaris Jackson to pass anything. At Thanksgiving his family probably never asks him to pass the potatoes because they know he'll fuk that up.

That is a curious line. Gotta love the Panthers here. Good value in the ML too. Steve Smith is coming back against one of the worst passing defenses in the league last year...

Must win game for the Vikings or their season is basically shot. Carolina is due for a down game while Minnesota will be playing for their lives. Once everyone bets the line down to 3 I'll take Vikings

Carolina is more equipped to put 8 in the box than the colts are... Carolina has a better nickel package. And a better front 7 vs the run.

Tavarus Jackson looks lost on the field.

Like the Panthers at +3.5! They will put 8 in the box and make Taverius Jackson beat them. Hope others think it's a must game for the Vikings and line goes up.

Yea, Carolina wasn't supposed to be all that this year.

They beat a banged up SD team, and played a good game. I just watched the CHI game again, and they got handled pretty well until the end when CHI let them back in.

MINN looked god awful the first week, and then the defense looked dominating (rushing at least) for the first part against Indy.

This game is anybody's guess, so I believe there is better value out there.

This line really confuses me. Carolina looks way too easy. Vikings only chance at a TD is if Purple Jesus has a breakaway run. The only points in the redzone they get are field goals. Panthers should eat up the secondary especially with Smith back. I'll probably stay away from this one.

Vikings will completely shut down the Carolina running game, and have to rely on Delhomme, who will blow it as usual.

Do I want to put my $ in the hands of Tavaris Jackson? You've got to be kidding me

Do I have faith that Delhomme & Co can do better against the Vikes D than Manning & his guys did last week? Not likely

If Tavaris plays this weekend the Vikings will lose. Simple as that. Everyone betting Carolina needs to be worried if Childress decides to start Gus Frerotte. This guy has been sitting on the bench for the last three years. If he gets a chance to start, you can bet on him playing the best game of his life this weekend against Carolina.

If I had $15,000 I would be on Carolina here

Jackson is the worst QB in the NFL, Steve Smith back for a dangerous Carolina team

I LOVE THIS GAME

Easy pick at first sight, but I don't like that everybody likes them.

Pinny moved from 3 to 3.5 eight minutes before CRIS and the Greek. Why does Pinny want me to take the Panthers? Sports insights shows 69% on Carolina, and yet the line moved from +3 to +3.5. No thanks. Pass. Respect for Pinny goes a long way.

The more I think about this game, the more I like the Vikings. Pinny knows their sht thats why the line change. Minny looked real good last week being up 15-0 but fell apart at the end. This game is pretty much their season so they should come out full force. I'll wait and see if I can get a -3.

The line about the potatoes is classic. It made me laugh and I don't laugh that often. But I already locked in Vikes -3.5. Peterson is a stud, the Vikes Defense is one of the best out there, and Jackson is aweful, but getting better. Plus from what I have seen over the years watching the ViQueens is they always play tuff at home and somehow beat teams they have no business beating.

The Panthers aren't bad. If they were able to beat the Bears and the Chargers without arguably the best Wide Receiver in the NFL, don't you think they should be able to handle the Vikings. Delhomme is an excellent QB. He doesn't choke under pressure and with Steve Smith receiving, he should have more guys to throw to. The fact that they started off the season 2-0 without Smith tells me that this team is legit and will make it far this year.

BTW, Pinny doesn't care which side wins. They make moeny no matter what. That is why bookies are taking all of our bets.

This years money maker will definitely be the Panthers. They are very underrated and will upset some fo their tougher opponents.

Maybe you guys just don't think Steve Smith is that good. The guy is amazing. If Carolina was able to beat two pretty good teams without him, then they should be able to handle the Vikings with him. He demolishes even the best of defenses.

Keep in mind that the Vikings have one of the worst pass defenses in the league especially without starting safety Manieu Williams. With Smith coming back, Carolina will have success passing the ball. Carolina has a decent D and will stack 8 in the box and make Tavarius Jackson beat them. Leaning towards Carolina at +3.5, basically game will come down to Jackson. If he sucks last last week, Carolina wins.

With Smith back, I see carolina as having on of the top offenses. Now they will be able to win with a great running game as well as a passing game.

Childress has been talking about how Jackson is his guy and gives the Vikings the best chance to win bs. I think he finally realized that his job is on the line and can't keep starting a qb that clearly doesn't have NFL qb skills. Will be interesting to see what the line does now since Gus can at least complete long pass that a receiver actually has a chance to catch.

Here is his lifetime stats!

Seems to be a veteren journeyman...who is a little above 500 mark with his TD/INT ratio. Also...I noticed a very poor completion perecentage for his career at 54%

Thoughts?

Frerotte is a journeyman qb at best especially at age 37. It's not like he's going to save the Vikings. Just shows how stupid Childress is not getting a quality "backup" because he threw all of his eggs in one basket. Passing game should be better, but he's got no mobility to scramble against a good Carolina D. Vikings top 2 recievers Berrian and Rice are questionable so Gus might not have their best wrs out there.

Frerotte is the starter for the rest of the year now they're saying. No faith in Jackson at all.
