No risk, eh? Is that why books go broke? (I guess those -104 odds are just their way of saying 'thank you'.)
Pinny is a gambling operation disguised as a book. The question is: who are behind the mask?
Clue. It ain't Batman and Robin.

I can see this coming a mile away - Frerotte gets injured in the first half, Jackson comes back in and plays awesome the rest of the game, leading Minny to a 20-point win.

They go broke when too many people are taking favorites. However, a book that uses supply and demand to determine lines correctly shouldn't go broke. Obviously, there are cases where the books can lose a lot. For example, when the Cubs were winning ridiculous amounts of games at home versus crap teams, the books responded with ridiculous -300 lines.
In a game like this one though, they will not lose since there are similar numbers fo people on both sides.

being from north carolina, and being my favorite team is carolina i will try to help.carolia got lucky in both their wins.we can play good defense most of the time.the best move we done in the offseason was get mus back from the bears.we have a go to guy in the middle, and we have one that can own you.this game goes down to how good guss plays.ap will have aroung 135 in rushing yards.greatest iback in the nfl.i believe guss plays like shit.score will be carolina 21,to 7.

Ok just took the Panthers(+3.5) -110 at betjam. If Peterson doesn't play thats great but even if he does he won't be 100%.

HOU -3/5 1Q / -14.5

I'm not touching this game. MIN is fighting for their season, and CAR seems to be stronger in most areas of the game. AP + Berrian could open up a can.....or they could never get out of the blocks. Gun to my head I'd take CAR +3.5.....but I'd be worried.

Played Carolina ML in a couple of parlays. Creates great odds so its worth the gamble. I honestly think they will win anyway unless the fix is in!

Seems like I am on the minority here, but I think Vikes are STRONG play at -3.5. They will still hand the ball to Peterson often, but they now have a quarterback that won't miss wide open receivers on third down. Also, at 0-2, this is practically a must-win game with the Packers off to a 2-0 start, and I think Minny gets it done.

You're not concerned AD was limited in practice two days ago and missed yesterday?

AP will play, no worries. If there was any doubt there would have been some line movement.

You are overlooking the fact that 70% of the action on this game is on Carolina, yet the line went up. I suspect that Pinny is happy to have Carolina action here.

Agreed that is fishy but I would hate to see him play and be ineffective. I do think that Minnesota is a better team but:
1) It's hard to say the move to Ferotte is anything more than lateral. Lets not forget he head-butted a wall in celebration and injured himself
2) Gus hasn't practiced with the starters, but that might actually be a good thing because the health of the Vikings' starting wide receivers is questionable
3) Carolina gets back a huge threat at WR to compliment their rediscovered power running game
This is a tricky game IMO

The line keeps getting more and more fishy. Min -3 1/2 even after all the news the last 2 days? What the heck? I still don't get this line - it's way off to begin with giving Carolina a LOT of value. In a normal situation, I'd jam bets in on the Panthers +3.5, but it's just fishy as hell right now. Even moreso than when the line jumped a 1/2 point.

Do you guys really think there is a conspiracy? And LT, where did you get this 70% of the money statistic? If this is the case, then Pinny is not a well run book. What they are doing is very risky. Unless they are paying off the Panthers themselves, I don't understand why they would do this with 70% on Carolina.

I'm actually seeing 77% on Panthers ML on sportsinsights
Edit: Also, the Vikings ML is about 25 cents heavy. At -3.5 the ML should be around -175. This means that the Vikings ML may be the play if the line stays this way.
My gut says Panthers but the stats are saying something else....

Five good reasons for leaning towards the Panthers . . .
1 - Gus and no one vs Delhomme / Smith / Muhammad = Panthers
2 - Adrian Peterson & Hamstring vs Healthy D. Williams = Tie leaning Panthers
3- Childress vs Fox = Panthers all the way
4 - Vikings Defense #20 vs Carolina Offense #19 (w/o Smith) = Carolina
5 - Vikings Offense #15 vs Carolina Defense #12 = Carolina
On a side note . . CAROLINA is 73-45 ATS (+23.5 Units) as an underdog since 1992.
And I call myself a Vikings Fan

This is so tough to really belive "my" panthers are so good to warrant as much action that they are getting.
I am on them +3.5 @+102, couldnt turn it down.
what COULD do the panthers is sloppy penalties on offense, they've had LOTS of them. vikings D is tough, but the bears have a really good D and despite setting up bad situations with false starts & holds they still managed to put up 20.
Smith and Ferret both have same risk of rust vs rest

No, the 77% is ATS.

No, it means that the sharps are on Minnesota. The money bet by the 23% (sharps) is more that the money bet by the 77% (squares), which is the reason for the reverse line movement.
Always remember though that smart money is not always smart.

I actually feel that Minnesota is UNDERrated, and that the QB change will help them. There is no question that they would have beaten the Colts last week if Frerotte had started. Heck, they probably should have won anyway, but that's beside the point.

trap game of the week
after I take a quick glance at the weekly lines, I try to figure out which seems to be the "easiest pick" to make. Last week it was the Saints, -1 or whatever at Washington. I thought they would destroy the redskins. yeah, so this week Carolina looks like a STONE COLD LOCK. you should read that last line as "bet vikings". this shits rigged. it was nice to double up on louisville this week though!

panthers will win
panthers o-line is what has gotten them 2-0.
vikings will be without AP, although chester taylor is a solid backup
ferotte sucks and will be on his back for most of the game.
if he is better than t-jack, then why didnt he beat him out in camp for the starting role?
call me a [], i'm taking car +3.5

Have you seen Jake D's ATS record concerning games like this.......
Jake Delhomme is 26-12 ATS on the road.
Jake Delhomme is 22-4 ATS as an underdog in his career.
Jake Delhomme is 17-7 ATS off back-to-back wins.
I'll take Carolina on the road, in a dome (i.e fast track), with their best WR coming back trying to prove something to his team. Carolina is probably looking at this spread and say they get no respect and you know Coach Fox is yelling that to his players all the way to the game.
Only shady thing is this might be where Vegas gets everyone. The betting public just lost a lot of money in the stock market this past week. Everyone is looking at the games this week for a "no brainer". This is the "no-brainer" that gets people to bet heavy on Carolina, which they did and the line only went higher...........as we say here in Hawaii....."no make sense!!"
I'd only lay a 2 units on the under 38
