Yes, I think Iowa will be the underdog, and Pitts defense should hold up the hawks... they have good coach for D just no offense.

Wow, I just cannot see IOWA being the underdog here........not after Pitts opening weekend loss and then struggling to beat Buffalo in the 2nd week.
I will stick with IOWA -4..........but like I said, having a tough time with this line and those of you making Iowa a dog could be right.

LT--Every game is just as important as the others.
Secondly, I just brought it up because i just find the game a very hard one to handicap considering the three very weak opponents Iowa has faced this year........MAINE, FLA INTER, and IOWA STATE.
Iowa has not allowed a TD this year.......

Oh I agree that garbage games oftentimes have value, especially the dogs as the faves are usually teams that you wouldn't want to lay points with.
I am just saying that games like this don't need much scrutiny before the lines come out because you basically already know that it is a Dog or Pass type game.

actually alot of value can be on these games as players usually dictate the line...its easy to hit a team total or over/under on these games... there usually easier to cap.

Averaging the seven that have responded, the SBR'ers average the line out at around IOWA -3.
I think that is a good line and probably better than my original -4.

I'll actually be at this game.
But coming from Hawkeye fan be careful of this one. Don't look too much into last weeks game, but this is their first road game. Lately that hasn't boaded well for Iowa.
As much as I want to be on the Stanzi bandwagon if he is given the ball watch out. I think if Jake starts it would be a better bet to take the hawks.
I have no clue what this spread is going to be though, I still think Iowa should be the underdogs.

Iowa (we) have Michigans WR Coach...you know the black guy who I don't know his name but he's had 13 draft players coached by him and 8 1000 yard a season guys.... I'm pretty sure our WR are improved. Yes Brodell is a All American Canidate. The other two are All Big ten mentionables... But not all american...
Actually I think Stanzi starts and Jake might be bailing him out again.... Stanzi had a bad game vs ISU. one of his INTS was a tipped ball deflected into someones hands...
its like oh a ball catch the ball wait its magically right in your hands...
Pitt passes the ball and and Iowa has a great D line to get pressure with 4 and drop 7 into coverage. We do have two of the best DT in the big 10.
at +1.5 Take the hawks ML...I think this line moves though. I'm not a DW fan though. HE's a good D cordinator but a crap head coach. Watch Iowa pound the run game at him and pitt get beaten in a old school in your face Big 10 style game. Where things are settled at the line of scrimmage and not a high scoring matchup.

a couple things sir
first, his name is soup campbell. and yes he has done a lot with receivers in the past and has had very good rapport with the receivers he has worked with
second, lets not fool ourselves - brodell is not all american material. he will however make a very strong case for all-b10
third, i actually think jake starts this game. he provides iowa with the best chance to win and ferentz has shown he believes in the kid still and jake has shown he wants that spot. i think him riding the pine for a bit may have been in his best interest in the end.
fourth, im laying on that iowa +1.5. they looked bad against iowa state, but they do every year. it wasnt so much they looked bad, but they had mental lapses and made stupid mistakes. no other way to describe it, iowa has trouble with isu in that game intensity wise. a huge game for ferentz going home to pitt and hopefully its back to business as normal
