I think it's overblown. From the TV it looked like the reporters were trying to pump it up and make it look more bad than it was.

The US will shrink by several hundred square miles tomorrow once the Gulf of Mexico claims back Galveston Island.

Default The weather service

The weather service feeds on this sh*t. They make their ad revenue from 7/1 - 10/1, take everything they say w/ a grain of salt. Remember, in Asia the numbers are in percentages of millions, here they rarely reach the hundreds.

Plenty. It's simple math. A 17 ft tall wall can't stop 25 ft tall stom surge. They better have the body bags ready for the idiots that stayed there.

So the only businesses in downtown Houston were city hall and the police department. Someone in the glass business may make a whole lotta money for the next couple of weeks.

They will lose the land tomorrow. They will get it back in a few days. A loss is a loss.

Of course the water is coming in, Pavy. No argument there. I live 150 miles from the coast(Corpus Christi, Galveston, ect) and I'm waiting for the rain to come tonight. They say we are going to get 1 to 2 inches of rain soon and then the real sh!t hits the fan after it. I agree, but in the same sense we arent on the coast. Those people are getting the sh!t.

Watching here locally not sure what they are showing nationally. There was just a report on the seawall and it looks like the water is right at the top of the seawall and coming over so its just a matter of time before the big part gets to Galveston and wipes it out.

Ike looks like it is going to veer towards Louisiana once it hits Galveston full force. Is anybody watching the idiot, Geraldo out there reporting for fox news?

I grew up in Houston and lived there when Alicia hit back in '83 - which is what they are comparing this too. We got flooding at my house back then, but no major damage. I think downtown Houston will get some blownout windows & flooding in the usual areas that flood. Galveston is F-ed, but it's a craphole to begin with - kinda like New Orleans. There is no reason to live there in the first place.

Geraldo Rivera is an idiot. Trying to use big vocab words while a 100+ mph gust of wind blows his moustache straight up his vagina.
