When or how did you get involved with sportsbetting?

Everyone has a story; I was wondering why you all started gambling on sports?

I was introduced to it from a friend at work. He would gamble on college football to cash out for parts towards his crotch rocket.

Ever since then I started small and now i'm laying 400-1,000 on average a game.

i got started gambling when CW put a gun to my fukkin forehead and said i owed $96. i never betted a dime in my life and had to start wagering to give them the cash before they shot my dog again even though i owed them nothing. guess they got me mixed up with someone else

If you are serious then I'm sorry to hear about your dad. I was only asking/starting this thread because I've heard some interesting stories from recreational betters or sharps on how/why they got into betting sports.

del mar when i was 8. first online book was thebigbook (links to bodog now, unsure if its the same company) when i was about 14.

A friend in college would take bets. Started betting college basketball with him, lost a lot and quit for a while. Then I put money on bodog for poker, and started betting sports with my winnings.

I played online poker exclusively about 2 summers ago, mainly at PokerRoom and Bodog. In the fall, for some reason, I decided to explore Bodog's main webpage, and happened upon the Sports tab. My first 20 or so bets were $5 parlays, because they were FUN to me. I actually hit a 13 teamer that paid $500 or so. I should have staked more than $5!
Anyways, the rest is history
