Default betcris Weekly Review May 8th

Weekly Review May 8th:

We are now down to 8 playoff teams in the NBA and so far everything has gone according to the odds with no upsets so far. This translates to a winning week for our NBA bettors. Our biggest payouts on NBA was for our parlay bettors, and with all the favorites winning, it’s no surprise. Phoenix had the biggest scare down 3-1 in the series against the Lakers, but fought hard and won the next three games to take the series. You have to wonder though how much energy and emotion they used up to come back. This series was particularly bad for us with the public all over the Suns at the start and even betting 3/1 on the Suns when they were down 3-1! The good thing about sports is that there is always next week, and with great series like Miami -Nets, Spurs – Mavericks and the Suns now against the Clippers, I’m sure the action is really going to ‘Heat up’.

Jim Furyk claimed the Wachovia Championship in a playoff with Trevor Immelman at the luxurious odds of 20/1. Furyk’s odds dropped dramatically with the withdrawal of Robert Allenby, David Toms and David Howell as well as the early bets we received on the ‘value’ price. Early golf bettors can sometimes get some great value on some quality golfers, especially with the withdrawal of some of the favorites.

The Soccer season is winding down now with many of the big leagues only having one week to play. All attention then will be on the Champions League final between Barcelona and Arsenal and then of course the World Cup in June. We are planning to have plenty of options and proposition bets on both tournaments so log on to our website at www.betcris.com and ‘see what takes your fancy’.

NHL is down to the final eight teams as well, but unlike the NBA, we are starting to see some upsets. Stanley Cup favorites Ottawa and New Jersey already find themselves down one game in their respective series match-ups against Buffalo and Carolina. Betting has been great, and the Carolina 6-0 win against New Jersey was no surprise to one of our customers as he bet them to win a total of $40,000 at the odds of -105 and -110 in their first game of the series.

Savvy bettors were all over Oscar de la Hoya at -285 against Ricardo Mayorga on Saturday night. It was a great match-up and well publicized so that always translates into huge betting action. We had close to $250000 wagered on the fight overall. Is it just me or is it just a coincidence that Mayorga’s manager is Don King, and he couldn’t say anything without trying to insult the champion Oscar de la Hoya. Publicity is one thing, but Don King just takes it so far now, that his boxers look and sound stupid.

Well, until next week.
