Hoopster,
How old are you?
The reason I ask is, from your list, you don't seem to be old enough to have seen Dick Butkus, Ray Nitschke, Mike Curtis, Willie Lanier, etc. I'm not saying all deserve to be on the list, but they're certainly all in the discussion.

I don't know, what are your career sack numbers?

Mo's weak against the run, by the way.

I'll go with strahan as active man. Most people think of him as sacks man. But he was above average against the run as well. Just a complete DE. He's amazin'

cause they didn't want to run or because they weren't able?

Maybe you guys and girls know this cus i am not very knowledgeable about sport stats. Who was the oldschool DL-man that Had a ridiculous amount of sacks in one game pre-sack stats. I think he played for Philadelphia and he had like 14 or more sacks in one game???

Excellent. That should be some hook in a country song actually.

I'm 86ing Alan Page off my list and adding Sportsgirl (even though I think she could be a much better strong safety with her speed).

DL's

1. Reggie White
2. Deacon Jones
3. Joe Greene
4. Bruce Smith
5. Michael Strahan

6-10 are John Randle, Charles Haley, Youngblood, Page, and Carl Eller. I think Page & Eller as a package may have been the most elite 1-2 punch at DL in NFL history.

As for LB's:

1. Lawrence Taylor
2. Dick Butkis
3. Jack Lambert
4. Ray Lewis
5. Derrick Thomas

Maybe we should just do all of the positions.

Lanier was an old school KC guy. He was sick playing with Bell & Buchannon, Emmitt Thomas, etc. but I just don't think he was at the same level as the 5 i mentioned before.

Nitschke on the other hand is a guy I did completely leave out. I'm not as good with guys from back then because I wasn't alive but seeing how he lead those Lombardi era Packer defenses he definitely belongs up there with the 5 I mentioned before.

GG,
52.
I certainly agree that any list of ATG (all time great) LB's MUST have LT on it. I was going back before LT in my earlier post.
