Swede, it's nice that you agree with Arnold, but that will be of no help to him upon passing. Now, if either of you chose to agree with God and Jesus, and their word, that would be a bit more valuable in the long run. And, actually, it'd be better for both of you in the short run as well.
Arnold stated he believes God is imaginary and those who believe in Him are part of an imaginary world. Swede said she agrees with everything Armold has said. I guess to both of them this life is the one and only reality -- I know this reality hasn't been working too well for Swede. Arnold, he'll have to say for himself.

Oh, but if the bible actually is the word of God, then I do agree with him for the most part. I simply do not agree with many of his avid followers.

Everything has been working out just peachy for me. I have a pretty good life. Now, are you going to keep dodging my question, or try for a second to grow some balls and answer me?
I shall ask again: What would you think God would say about your hateful, mean-spirited attitude?

Everything has been working out just peachy for you? That's certainly not what you represent here on this site. And your life here is a blink of an eye. Good thing if you started thinking about the afterlife. Here before you know it -- no time for 2nd chances then.

As I suspected. You dodge the questions you don't want to answer and try to distract with scare tactics. I don't know where on this board I have ever stated that I have a crappy life. I've had my ups and downs. I've been through a lot of serious stuff, but I survived. And guess what...I did it by having faith in MYSELF and my FAMILY, not by praying to a deity that may or may not exist.
Just because you are baptized and present yourself here on earth as a good little Christian, that does not mean you're going to heaven, buddy. If there is a God, he can see past your pious shell right to your rotten core.

This is what I call blind faith. Agree with something that has nothing to do with the real world. I understand things like love your neighbour, bless your enemy, etc, but these things exist without the help of the Bible and God. I repeat another time: you don't have to be a Christian to be a good person. Did I say it clear enough for your understanding?

I didn't say that God himself is imaginary. Maybe he exists somewhere, and if he does, most likely he is far from what you imagine him to be. Each Christian builds his own "virtual image" of God in his mind, and worships this image. This is why Christianity is a man-made religion - there is no real connection to God.

My life is great, I hope it lasts forever. I don't know what comes after this life. I thought we already went over this. I am here right now (in this life) and this is all I have to care about.

It seems that all you talk about is heaven and hell, the eternity, and what comes after death. That's a typical egocentric Christian, who all he cares about is his salvation. You're in it just for the good times, admit it. 99% of Christians are like that. You never asked us how we treat people, what good we do to others, whether or not we fed the hungry today, etc. This shows who you really are inside. Believing just so they don't send you to hell, is very low. And that's how the rest of your Christianity goes. You don't help someone because you care about that person. You help him because the Bible says so, and you need this to get to heaven. You're doing it for your own sake. Would you be a Christian if there was nothing after this life? I don't think so.

Actually, the Christian faith and God's word make living in this world at present a much more enjoyable and enriching experience. Take away the after-life and I am still getting much more out of this one because of the Lord.
You said something very telling, Arnold. You hope this life lasts forever. Newsflash: it won't. And your short-term planning/views regarding what happens next don't jibe with your apparent intelligence. It's like saying "I'll keep eating chocolate because I like it" and not considering that it will, sooner rather than later, make you unhealthy and overweight.
You can choose not to accept the Lord. You might not fully feel the effects of your choice for the next 70-80 years, but you will feel them for the eternity afterwards. Not a great trade-off, Arnold, especially when you will come to the realization you could have been saved and instead chose the egotistical route of believing you could take care of everything yourself.
Arnold, you know very little of Christianity if you believe I need to do good things to go to heaven, as if there was a scoresheet. The Bible says you can't earn heaven, but can get there through accepting God's sacrifice for us, His Son Jesus. It is a gift. It cannot be earned. But it has to be accepted -- like any gift does!
Oh, and what Swede said.

This is a gambling forum, what are devout christians doing here. I care more about who covers in the game tonight than what happens after death. Lets keep the religious BS to a minimum please. The only "word" Im living by is the "word" of WE EAT FISH, because that makes me money.

A devout Christian is not who started this thread, Kellen. Perhaps you want to take issue with that person?

With the constant mention, I think Kellen is WE EAT FISH.
And religion is one of the worst things man ever invented. Following closely behind would be speedos, cat sweaters and solar flashlights.

But the Bible and God are two of the best things man has ever believed in and followed ...
(I do agree with Robyn about the speedos, however)

moneyline, I would never argue with you on that point. We all have the wonderful gift of "free will" to believe in what we wish. The Bible and God (while I do not follow either) have been grossly misinterpreted over the years via man-made religion.
If there is truly only one God and each religion is merely praying to a different address, I can only imagine how tired He must be traveling all the time.
