Bama -3 watched that debacle last week vs. the mighty fackin' Catamounts. 1.) Bama got a group of quality running backs and will move the ball well. Don't much care fer their homo QB with his extra names, but he is serviceable. 2.) Bama "D" is not good. Start a group of underclassmen, vulnerable in the passing game, and short-handed. 3.) Saban prolly ain't worth the dough they ponyed-up, but a serious upgrade over that Bum Phillips clone that ran the show last year. Vandy don't surprise anybody this year, and while they don't totally blow, they are outclassed here. Hate to say it, since my friggin' brother-in-law cries every time the Tide lose, but i reckon i'm on the right side of this game.

Penn State -11 this here is a gift from Bendoverus, the Greek God of degenerate gamblers. guaranteed the Lions ain't as good as they looked last week, and the 'Domers prolly ain't as bad as GT treated them last week. but ND can't fix that offense just by changing QBs, even if the new dude is named Montana. Joe Pa should throw a few ducats at this number with his local so he can get some glasses from the post WWII era. i'd have thrown money on this one up to 17ish, so this is the bargain of the week. if i left this one on the board for you clowns at least 175 of ya woulda took it.

GB +3 ain't that Bret chick 'sposed to fishin and playin cards down at the Legion with the rest of the old dudes? ain't that chunky soup-eatin' Philly guy 'sposed to get a ring this year (oops, flashed back to 2003 there). ain't Andy Reid got a svelte, boyish figure? dunno squat about either of these teams, but i reckon the home dog is as good a side as any. some crap team in the NFL comes outta nowhere to contend every year, mebbe I got lucky and it's the cheese-dicks year. anybody else think Reid could eat Holmgren with a nice Chianti in one sitting?

SD -6 between the SuperBowl hangover and the Illinos Department of Corrections, the Bears ain't got a prayer in this game. personally i try to steer clear of chalk early in the NFL season, but this number seems like its about a 3-spot light. my crystal ball shows Grossman on his back all day, with the windy-city favorites fortunate to post a pair of field goals. San Diego at home moves the ball up and down the field, scores at will, and plays their scrubs the whole fourth quarter. this here is as close to a lock as any punter will find this week.
