My week 2 plays are:

BUF/JAX under 38' -110 (BEST BET) WINNER

2* I look for this to be a defensive slugfest in JAX. JAX 14 BUF 13

ARZ Cardinals -8 +110 WINNER

1* Miami looks much improved from last year, while the Cards offense aside from Edgerrin James 100 yard day was somewhat inept. 5 turnovers given to the Cards and only a 10 point margin in the score @ SF, 23-13. For my money, I won't bet Kurt Warner will come out flat 2 weeks in a row, and barring Frank Gore's 41 yard scamper last week, the Cards defense is sound with many playmakers. ARZ 24 MIA 14

SF 49ers +10 -130 WINNER

1* Seattle has no wideouts, Hasselback has a bulging disk, things could not be worse for Holmgren in the Northwest. If the 49ers play turnover-free ball this week unlike last week, they could leave Seattle town with an outright victory. *ADDED 9/10*SEA RB Maurice Morris out for at least two weeks. Depending on your theory it can't get no worse....or better? SF 23 SEA 21

Incredible, my list is all dogs this week!

Week 1 I was 3-2 ATS taking jags, raiders, giants, eagles, ravens. The next 2 "no-plays" on my list were the pats & vikes, so I dodged a couple bullets there.

Here's this week's top 5:
Bills +6
Saints +1
Falcons +7 1/2
Vikings +3
Titans +1

The next 2 on my list are Eagles +6 1/2 & Phins +7, but don't make the cut and are no-plays.

Thanks guys,
I can see good arguments for all of these picks, spare one. OAK vs KC worries me. Both of these teams stink pretty bad. One turd + another turd = a crap pile. If you really feel strong about this pick than don't take my opinion to heart. Opinions are like a**holes; we all have 'em and they all stink.

I just think there are better choices.

NO vs WAS pk is a hot choice in my opinion. I do not know why NO is not favored for this game but I'm not waiting to find out. I placed my bet this morning.

I also like GB -3, and PIT -6.

The best advice I can give is do your homework, take in several opinions from several different sources, and most importantly: trust your gut.

If you feel timid about any bet that is a good sign that you should hang onto your money. On the other side of the coin, if you feel strongly about a game and it goes against the grain... go for it.

Lastly, don't believe in "locks". There is a saying that goes something like: on any given Sunday any team can win. I feel very strongly about my picks but I am humble enough to understand that I could be wrong. That twinge of fear will keep you sharp. If you lose that fear than your in trouble.

Best of luck to you.

Thanks arpeggiomeister as I appreciate your opinions! In terms of KC...I just really like them being the Brody Crowle is out...and Huard is in...plus I like LJ to bust out more in this game....not to mention the psychological mess the Raiders had to endure last night....they could win by 5 against the raiders. However...they did bounce back with a couple TD's late which should factor in a little...even though Denver was playing a prevent style defense.

Thoughts?

Actually what reason do you have for this. You have a tale of two teams going opposite directions psychologically...

1) Denver's dominant and impressive performance on Monday Night Football

2) San Diego's getting beat in its own backyard on the last play of the game with a touchdown....not to mention the Merriman now out for the season.

With Denver getting points AT HOME...this seems to be a no brainer!

By the way...what does ML stand for next to the team? Also I've noticed a +100 and a -115. What does the triple digits stand for as I've noticed these numbers next to the point spreads.

Thoughts?

ML stands for money line.

Example: 100 bet won on a +235 wins you 235
175 bet won on a -175 wins you 100

+100 = Even money
-115 = 15/10 proposition

Example: Arz Cards -8 +100 = 100 bet won pays you 100
Example: Den Broncos -3 -115 = 115 bet won pays you 100

Hope this helps.

KC -3.5....everyone should be on this if they saw how damn bad Oakland is. KC also played very well against NE even though Brady was out.

dude, Rams at home. Giants are overrated. I absolutely love this bet. I don't do extensive write-ups, but the Rams getting this many points at home against a team that isn't elite is crazy. I think the line will go down. Bettors will eventually realize what's going on.

It's a new season and it's hard to get a handle on things based on only one week of games, but I feel comfortable with this pick. More comfortable than anything in Week 1, that's for sure.
