Going to try my luck with capping my first full year of NFL...was only capping for the last few weeks of the playoffs last year. Could get ugly but that is what learning is all about.
I have set my goal at +10 units. Going with 1 unit plays.

Football treated me well last year, despite the fact that I knew very little about it. There are less games than other sports so teams have less time to figure each other out. As a result you have teams that are really dominant, and others that seem like doormats because they constantly get run over.

I almost took NO. I think TB looks pretty tough and I eventually talked myself out of it. I still think these picks look pretty good though. You'll do fine.

Nah, it's all good Z. This is more about learning than it is making money for me right now. I have been working on learning how to handicap various sports this whole year and going to continue it for the rest of the year, so no offense but I don't follow anyone. I try to handicap the games myself and make my plays before even looking at the forums...of course that proved very difficult for week 1 with everyone posting several weeks out. Den/Oak under 41 -108

Denver is without best wr Marshall and Jackson has been hampered with an ankle injury and is likely not 100%. Oakland has bolstered their secondary this year and should be fairly solid. Stokley can be a viable threat but Oakland matches up decent in the secondary. I don't see them having too much of a problem limiting Cutler in the passing game. With their wr core of for this game I look for Denver to control the clock with their running game which is solid year in and year out. I find it vital for them not to get down early with their limited big play ability. Denver has 2 of the best cover corners in the game with Bly and Baily. Curry is a decent threat but I don't see the Raiders testing Bly and Baily too much in this game, especially given Denver's run defense and having Mcfadden/Bush/Fargas in the backfield. DJ Williams is coming off of a monster year and this is his game to prove that he is for real and last year wasn't a fluke. Both teams should improve on defense from last year after giving up 20+ ppg. To me this game personally has smash mouth run down the throat of the opposition written all over it. I don't expect to see more than around 35 pass attempts combined with both teams controlling the game and clock with their running game.

Colts look so easy that is scares me. Manning was a bit out of rhythm but after a week of solid practice that problem should be fixed. My main concern was the lack of protection they provided Manning and some of the missed tackles on D. Manning should be able to exploit the Vikes secondary when they bring the heat but I am not sure how the D will do against Peterson. Going to watch parts of the games tomorrow before deciding on that one. Definitely looking like Colts or no play for me although I am sure it will be a very public play.

The Colts will be abale to control Peterson . Rodgers had a great day on the Vikings secondary! Just look for Payton to come out gunning! He will not have to bad games in a row! He will redeem himself!

Taking a team that looked terrible in week 1. SJax couldn't do anything which led to a horrid passing game as well. Holt was next to invisible and the Rams averaged a horrid 3.7 yds per play on offense. They were shredded by McNabb and several long passing plays...half of his passing yards came from 3 plays. Safety help over the top can cut down on those big plays. The one positive was that the Rams held the Eagles to 3.4 yds per rush on 32 attempts. Getting 9 pts at home is pretty big imo. I don't expect for Holt and Jackson to both be shut down like they were in week 1.

SF/Sea under 38 -110

Seattle facing some major injury problems on an already invisible offense. I don't see the Niners having too much trouble limiting them after holding the Cards to under 300 yds total offense and 4 yds per play on offense. With Seattle being short at WR and Hasselbeck being bothered by back spasms the Hawks will need to rely heavily on a mediocre run offense. Seattle did have 34 points put up against them but 1 touchdown was on a spectacular return by Parish and another was on a fake fg. While the Seahawks defense did look fairly shaky for the most part they were decent against the run and outside of a 21yd run by Lynch they shut the run down. I definitely expect a little more running out of SF this week while early turnovers led to less running last week. While JT had a decent game outside of 1 int he isn't ready to be throwing the ball 30 times/game. I fully expect a few time consuming drives in this game.
