Exclamation Bengals sign DT Peko to extension

Quote:
Cincinnati Enquirer

The Bengals are expected to announce later today that they have signed defensive tackle Domata Peko to a contract extension. In the third year of a four-year deal, Peko is expected to receive a five-year extension worth $29.3 million. He started all 16 games last season and has 17 starts and 32 games played. He is now signed through the 2014 season.

“Domata is a fine, young player who has fully proved his worth over the last two years and still has a tremendous upside,” Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said in a statement. “We are extremely pleased to have him signed to a long-term deal that ensures his future with our team. He has the ability to give us strong support against the run and good pass pressure up the middle."

Also today, wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who is entering the final year of his contract in 2008, said there have been no talks between the Bengals and his agent, Kennard McGuire, on an extension.
I am just shocked this latest news doesn't involve a Bengals played jailed for something.

Good signing. Now they need to get Housh signed to a long term deal.
