Default Green Bay vs. NYG Over 42

I really like this play. With Favre's postseason experience, the Packers should score a lot. I'm not sure how these teams will match up, but the score totaled 48 points when they met in week 2. Anyone agree or disagree?

I doubt it. The field was covered in snow last week when Green Bay played Seattle

Wait for the weather closer to game time. Total has been dropping fast, and has cleared 41. Next big number is 37 (very far away), so I'm putting a little at O40.5 now, and more closer to game time.

The snowy weather didn't slow down either team from scoring points last week. At times it seemed that Grant was gliding through the snow on every run because the defenders couldn't adjust. If I remember correctly when Giants played Buffalo a few weeks back at Buffalo it was a high scoring game with bad weather.

However, if the weather is windy or rainy it will slow down teams and scoring. Anyone has any good weather reports?

Different weather in this game 20 degrees colder. Also worth mentioning alot of those points were scored on short fields off turnovers..

The wind prediction has improved (for overs).

I personally think way too much is being made of the cold temperature. It will annoy the kickers but they should be able to make some adjustments going in.

What will play a bigger factor weather wise is just how sharp the wind is. As far as individual players, I think they'll adjust fine, albeit with some thermals on perhaps. With the rhythm both offenses are in, and with a game of this magnitude, I would still consider a 23-20 a low scoring outcome.

I like the over here.

Alot of sharp money cleared the 42's and 41's

Eli plays horrible in the cold. hes gonna big problems with the temperature.

However, points could be scored if the packers spread teh Giants secondary which is something the idiot Cowboys failed to do.

Tough to call. Better bet looks like Packers team total over rather than the game. Too many question marks surrounding the Giants...but the Packers will score pts.

I think they are looking at the last 10 games Green Bay has played this year and they were all overs.

Be interesting to see where the total ends up. If it keeps falling you'll almost have to play the over.

I have to agree with you Eglickman,I also believe the Packers & Giants will go over.I hope like hell Greenbay is the one on top though, and I hope by more then 7.5 went ahead and took the Packers, and over tonight, because I don't look for that line to go down.if anything it's going to go up.I was worried about the line Sat.,and espicially after they spotted them two touchdowns, but they came through just like they did all year.If your a believer in fate you have to think this is his year, and it's been kind of overshadowed by the Patriots, and their winning streak.I still believe though this is Brett's last stand, and he is going to do to Tom Brady what John Elway did to him.Farve was the MVP the year Bronco's won the super bowl.Im telling you this is his year, and the Giants are just a bump in the road.So fight on EGLICKMAN,and GOOD LUCK.

Total now down to 39.5!!! Even the San Diego/New England is down to 46.5 after a 52 opener.

Sorry if this comes off like a bash but sharp action is on the under which is why the total's dropping. Pub is on the over.

Wind is the biggest factor in a game but anyone that has lived in the north and has seen zero degree temps knows that this will greatly affect the game.

Rain is the same way. Rain can help the over but extreme rain helps the under.

I didn't get the 43.5 but I've posted on three different sites that I have the u42.

37 and 34 are the top 2 key numbers but 38, 40, 41 aren't bad. I also posted early in the week that this line drops to 37 or 38.

Yeah, I've seen your posts on the topic, I'd say the consensus among forums is this one will go under. That's why it wouldn't surprise me if this is an easy over, without vicious wind (which isn't expected), both offenses are working with the same 'handicap'. So I don't think they'll both be stuck in the mud so to speak all game long because of the cold, not with how their offenses match up against their respective defenses.

Just read an updated forecast, NE is expecting weather in the teens and dropping to single digits by game time, with wind chills well below 0. I actually like the under in that one more than this game.

I should of hit this when it was 43 cause I knew that line was too high. I hardly ever play totals unless they look superb.

Final score

GB 24
Giants 13

I suggest you over players do your research on a little game they called "The Ice Bowl".

....or, perhaps, this game which (until this year's Pats) featured the best offense I've ever seen - that of the Chargers.

I just checked the line again and it is -7/40 (Pinny) if you take the break down score that is Pack 23.5 Giants 16.5. I think the pack makes it to at least 24 and probably 34 because the Giant secondary is banged up and the Farve is throwing the short passes and letting his receivers pick up the YAC. I'm sure that the pack receivers are used to a fastball from Farve by now. I don't see Green Bay being able to run the ball.
Does anyone have the stats on Eli's record in the cold under 32 degrees? The only game that I saw where the giants won in cold weather is the game in Buffalo. In that game Eli was really a non-factor, it was the running game and the defense that carried the day for the G-Men. If the wind is blowing hard, this has to favor the pack with the short passing game and the Giants have already shown that they can't handle the wind from an earlier game against Washington where the receivers were dropping the ball and Eli could not get the ball there half of the time.

I think that the final score will be 34-20 so it is the Pack and the over. I already placed these wagers straight up and parlayed together. The only concern for me is if it is blisteringly cold with high winds, then I will go the other way with a late under play to cover my straight over and my parlay play.

well, three days before the game and it is absolutely freezing here. Literally, I could not walk down the street today it was so cold. I was bundled in hat and gloves and walking more than 10 minutes today felt dangerous.

Good call, I think, if you took the under....
