Default Game of the Year for Me - Thinking Ahead

I am a little out ahead of this game, but want to go on the record now that NE (minus whatever) at Indy is my pick of the year.

To date this season, NE is the strongest team I think I can every remember seeing. They haven't taken a week off yet, even against teams like Cleveland and Miami. They cover any and every spread, almost like they are betting on themselves.

The game being at Indy is all the better as it will keep the spread down to a degree. It doesn't seem to matter to this team whether they play at home or away. Further, NE has the revenge factor in this game as they lost the AFC Championship game against Indy, at Indy, last year.

I will be curious as to what the spread will be. It can't possibly be over 7, could it? At Dallas as week ago they were anywhere from 4 1/2 to 6 1/2 point favorites. Can see them being higher than that at Indy.

I'm curious to see the posted total on that game. Should be something ridiculous.

Though I like the Pats as well, I'd like to see how the Colts look vs the Jags tomorrow.

If Indy is also undefeated going in, Pats may only be -3.5 or so. That said, Colts may stub their toe TONIGHT!

My call would be the over-under in that Colts-Pats matchup will be around 60 points at least. It will be highest in recent memory thats for sure.

Tom Brady Q&A, transcript of post game interview shown here http://www.patriots.com/games/index....ial_section=na

Q: In two weeks you’ll see the Colts and Peyton Manning. How much will it mean to you if both teams enter that game undefeated?

TB: In one week we play the Washington Redskins and they are a damn good defense. I could care less about two weeks down the road, really. I’m concerned with the Washington Redskins and they are an excellent football team with a great coach and great leaders. We have to play our best game.

---

He is such a consummate pro. To not even acknowledge the Colts like that at all, or play down the Washington Redskins at all. Most guys would at least say something nice about the Colts and brush it off with the "next weeks game" reply. :P

No way it's more than 3.

That would be severely underestimating a Colts team who is quietly winning week in & week out. If not for all the Patriots hoopla and blowouts, people would be talking about the Colts more. I like it better this way, I'm just saying, don't underestimate the Colts in this game. The Colts are not the Cowboys, and the line should be vastly different. Probably EVEN, is my guess, at least that's what is ought to be. There's no way to pick a favorite between Manning & Brady. If the line shows a dog, bet it.

Remember that Pats opened -4.5 at Dallas, so no way they open more than -3.5 vs. Indy if Colts are still undefeated. Maybe even -3. I think you guys projecting -6.5 and -7 are forgetting this game is at Indy.

Inbetween NE -1 to -2.5 is where i would set it atm, if Indy gets +3 or more that is good value imo.

If I could get NE -2 1/2 it would be a lock.

I'll take NE if its anything 4 or below... Otherwise I'm laying off. New Englands Defense is very solid but not infallible... should be a great game

i'll take the spread on the colts whatever it is. my reason is that manning don't **** around as much as brady, so manning will be a lot more focused on the field.

New England Patriots at Indianapolis Colts - Week 9
Sun 11/4 991 New England Patriots -2½ -130
4:15PM (EST) 992 Indianapolis Colts +2½ +110

Since the 2.5 is at -130, will probably be a solid -3 at most books.

May stick on -3 all week.

The Colts may be in the Pats' heads, though. It's been a while since they lost to them, so the shoe may be on the opposite foot now (as opposed to several years when the Pats owned them)

I would think about taking the Colts because the Colts do have a pretty good defense and the Pats just allowed 27 to Dallas and 28 to a Miami team that is winless, so I will side with the Colts in this game because they have a better defense and that is what can win you games is a very good defense.
