Jon Kitna's Guarantee might actually come true
I know it's still way too early in the season to even take Detroit as a real threat this year to win the Division, much less make the playoffs. However, It sure is looking like Jon Kitna's prediction of the Lions winning 10 games this year is looking pretty damn good thus far.
Take a look at there schedule and they actually might have a legitimate chance of getting those 10 wins:
Quote:
Sun 10/7 at Washington 1:00 pm
bye
Sun 10/21 Tampa Bay 1:00 pm
Sun 10/28 at Chicago 1:00 pm
Sun 11/4 Denver 1:00 pm
Sun 11/11 at Arizona 4:15 pm
Sun 11/18 NY Giants 4:15 pm
Thu 11/22 Green Bay 12:30 pm
Sun 12/2 at Minnesota 1:00 pm
Sun 12/9 Dallas 1:00 pm
Sun 12/16 at San Diego 4:15 pm
Sun 12/23 Kansas City 1:00 pm
Sun 12/30 at Green Bay 1:00 pm
|
They should bet Arizona, Minnesota, and Kansas City for sure which would give them at least 6 wins. Now you figure they will most likely split with Green Bay, and could beat Washington, Tampa Bay, and the Giants which would give them 10 wins on the season.

at Arizona they should be a 4 point dog at least?
Dallas is the only game they don't have much of a chance. I think they match up very well with San Diego, no one else is that good.

There is no game on schedule they don't have a chance to win.
I hope they do win 10 though, those stories are always good for sports. I struggle to see them winning more than 7 though and I don't think Arizona will be one of them.

Can't argue with a 3-1 record. I think they split and go 6-6 the rest of the way, finishing 9-7. The "Kitna Factor" might will them to 10-6, we'll see.

There is not 1 team on their schedule that I would say they will definitely beat.
I'll gladly take the under 10 . It could happen, but Detroit could just as easily lose 5 games in a row too. I think the NFL is getting too ridiculous to go through schedules and mark them as wins and losses. It just doesn't work that way

Jon Kitna's prediction come very well come true.
The Lions are 5-2 right now with a schedule left that would very well get those 10 wins.

Yes Sir.
I can't remember the last time the Lions were 5-2 or even 3 games above .500. It is good to finally see them winning, even on the road.
Now they need the Packers to lose tonight to be tied in the North.

Are any books taking action on this? I think the Lions will win 10 games.

They have a shot at winning 10 games this year, unless the injury bug hits them they are for sure a wild card contender at the least.

The Lions will win on Turkey day. That should decide who takes the North, that or the game in Green Bay at the end of the year.

The Lions still have a lot of tough games ahead: Packers twice, Giants, Chargers, Dallas, even @ Minny could be tough. Tough for a team like Detroit to go through these 7 games without 5 losses. 10 wins is getting closer, but still a long way away. I'm rooting for the Lions in the worst way, but I still think they are a mediocre team at best right now. Mediocre gets a playoff spot in the NFC.

They are getting outgained in every game..how many 5-2 teams have more points against than points scored? They can't survive on turnovers forever.......can they? I am huge fan but their stats do not match with a 5-2 record

They are 3-0 in their division as well.
That scoring stat is a bit miss leading, because they gave up 56 to the Eagles in one game.

didn't the Ravens in 00' have most of their points scored from their D, i'm thinking Dilfer was one of the lowest rated QB's that season but their D carried them to a superbowl.

Looks like the Kitna's prediction has to be taken seriously after todays game.
They totally dominated the Broncos today 44-7.

Yesterdays loss sure doesn't help Kitna's prediction.
Here is the Lions remaining schedule:
Quote:
Sun 11/18 NY Giants 4:15 pm
Thu 11/22 Green Bay 12:30 pm
Sun 12/2 at Minnesota 1:00 pm
Sun 12/9 Dallas 1:00 pm
Sun 12/16 at San Diego 4:15 pm
Sun 12/23 Kansas City 1:00 pm
Sun 12/30 at Green Bay 1:00 pm
|
They do have one brutal schedule remaining, but I think they can still get those 10 wins.
I think they will split with Green Bay, and win against KC, Minny, and the Giants to get those 10 wins.

Looks like this prediction of Kitna's might just fall short after todays loss. The will most likely only get 3 wins the rest of the year.
