damn norn turner sucks...
but he shouldn't get the blame, its the organizations fault. they fire a good coach and hire a shitty coach |

He walked into a no-win situation with SD. Team was 14-2 without him so the expectations placed on him was to take them all the way. Anything less would be considered a failure which appears to be happening.

Rivers also sucks.
Turner, go back to NOT being a head coach...you're okay at doing the other smaller coaching roles though. |

Norv Turner is a terrible head coach, he should lose his job at the end of the year, shoot they got rid of one that had a 14-2 record.

The SD management took the team in a different direction. Losing. Shottenheimer is a different type of coach than Turner, and right now the players are not buying Turner's game plan. Right now SD needs a coach that will kick their butts, and Turner is not someone who seems to be able to do that.
Losing to the Chiefs at home is a serious cry for help for a team that many picked to challenge the Patriots for the AFC championship. The Chargers have too much talent and they may have taken this game against KC too lightly; however, the season is still young and the Charger's real character should be revealed when they travel to Denver next week. |

If they can't beat KC at home, they'll get F'ing killed in Denver. What are these loseres 3 years old? They were 14-2 last year and they can't get up for a game on their own, regardless if they have a new loser coach?

When you're up 16-6 at the half, you've got the right game plan.
When you lose the 2H 0-24, you have no clue about halftime adjustments. Not quite ready to stick a fork in them, but close. |

LT had such a great first half. I don't understand why they got away from him in the second half. Interested to hear your thoughts. |

The forks in them already, this team will tear itself apart, regardless of the coaching staff.

Wonder why SD didn't look at how bad Turner blew his other opportunities as a HC. Turner is a great OC but terrible HC... wish he would have stayed in SF, they need him back desperately.

They probably thought they had the game won at halftime, and so stopped playing with urgency and reverted right back to their misplaced sense of superiority. I can't remember a team so addicted to the rush of feeling superior, even when the results aren't backing it up. They're out of touch with reality and look ridiculous, like a bunch of overacting B-movie stars. Last year's universal praises clearly got to their heads. This team is looking at LT for leadership. Last week his hopeless and depressed 'I'm at a loss for words' were not the words of a leader. He sounded better this week. Still not quite there, but close. Of course, it is the coach's responsibility to fix the character and mentality of a team, but Norv doesn't have the gravitas. He's truly clueless about how to fix this team.

I've said it before. Norv was hired as a pseudo-interim HC due to the circumstances of Marty's firing. Marty was fired after all of the hot HC candidates already had jobs. Norv woulda been far down the list of hot candidates. But Norv was familar with the team & the offense, so he was the best "near fit". Norv will probably be dismissed after the season and Cowher or some other hot ticket will be injected into this situation in SD.

Well...with four games down and twelve to go, it could turn into a lonnnnnnggggggg year in San Diego if things don't improve in a hurry.
Yesterday, at the end of the game the fans were chanting MARTY, MARTY!! I'm inclined to agree with Slacker, Norv seems to be looking at a "one and done" situation in SD if it doesn't turn around in a hurry. |

Norv won't have to worry, he can retire on this contract. Continue to coach badly (his style as a head coach), win or lose, he has his contract. All that gets hurt are his feelings. His reputation as a head coach is already bad.

As a Broncos fan living in San Diego I must admit that I was in the minority of folks here who rejoiced when Norv Turner was hired...
