Default Lessons from week 1.........thus far

Eagles, Chiefs, and Jets will not be making a return to the playoffs this year. Anybody else learned any lessons today?

All three teams eliminated 2 games before the season ends. There are times that you can tell a week one loss is a season lost.

The lesson I always learn is a team can start hot or cold and it doest really say anything about the big picture whatsoever .

I agree...didn't New England get shut out something like 31-0 in game 1 in 2001?? and they end up winning the Super Bowl

I wouldn't count the Eagles out just yet. They just seemed flat today, that doesn't make for an entire season. Reid will no doubt make adjustments.

Chiefs will be going through growing pains, and NOBODY was predicting them into the playoffs this year anyway.

Jets will hinge on Pennington's health. Again, this fact was well understood before the season began.

Lesson for week 1: don't overreact to one bad game.

Normally not a bad idea, I usually have my best weeks down the stretch. Went 4-1 so far this weekend, got a unit on the Giants and I'll probably play the game tomorrow night.

I always love people who make assumptions after week 1.

Okay I have made some assumptions:

New Eng: Real Deal

Saints: No thoughts as they just didn't play

Colts: Still Great on off too early for D call

Green bay: They suck, okay so the D is good but on off they are really bad. This team is not going places. Bar Reed (the Fool) and one blown play which worked they would have gone down. Eagles looked like they could raise their game.

Falcons: Okay we know the passing game will be down and week 1 was a poor matchup for them. Hence don't get too down on them. D wasn't great

Eagles: Sack reed= winning record. okay on both sides of the ball

Vikings: Okay played as expected and i would have come down heavy on them bar sucker bet talk hence passed. It was a good match up for them week 1 and I think passing teams will take them down most weeks. However Can Peterson be such a factor every week?

Miami: They suck. O Line is very poor and D is not that great

Redskins: I am a skins fan and was happy with the win. Won't be too many

Jets: these are a team i will avoid backing or lating as they are so hard to predict. Piss poor D

Jags: Surprised it was so easy to run against them. Not sure about off either. No judgement yet

Ten: Ran it well and D did okay. judgement out

Denver: are overatted but can really run it. Glad i have henry in Fantasy team

Bills: will be capable of surprises this year but not a team to back. avoid them

Pits: How good are they and how bad are the browns?

Browns: how bad are they and how good are Pits?

Carliona: as normal surprised me. Off looked good but it was the Rams. I could throw 2 Tds against the Rams

Rams: I think they may get a losing record.

Cheifs: are going to suck this year as expected. Can they even run it with that line. 3 points against houston mmm

Houston: have some weapons. no Judgement

Tampa: Started well Off. Lost some guys to injuries and fell apart. D still good. Not as bad as predicted

Seattle: Will win at home as always. No improvement

Chargers: I like them. Good both sides. Has rivers the start quality or should LT convert to QB?

Bears: Watch them under bets with this team. The line will get to 10 total at some point

Oakland: Qb showed some spitit but this is a poor team

Lions: Average team who will be burnt by the balanced teams out there. D not good enough

Dallas: I thought the D would be better as the giants are not good. ??? against this team now

Giants: Okay they moved the ball and manning was good but No this is not a good team. And i will be laying against when it suits.

Most as exspected from numerous expert views however picked up on a few important indicators and discounted some.

Default lessons from week one

There is something in the water at Buffalo,N.Y. Four Super bowls lost-wide right-in-the crease-phantom goals-Music City Miracle and to loose under a second coupled with life threatening injuries makes one shudder.

I saw a lot of problems with prior head coaching failures Norv Turner and Wade Phillips. Inheriting a good team will help them in the first half (remember Pete Carroll started 4-0 and 6-2 with NE) but when the real coaching begins in the second half, I think they will be great play againsts.

These coaches will mess these teams up.

I thought the 49ers offence would be much better. Plus on D Ari shouldn't be running so well against you.

Cards - Don't like the run focus when they have the WR weapons. D could not stop the final drive which about sums them up after playing a dirty game.

Baltmore. Looked good again without so many turnovers they would have won easy. Some strange play calling when you are ahead and running the ball why throw deep middle???

Bengals: Not impressed. So the D had a big day you can run against these Bengals. I don't think they are a good team to be following this year. Very close to a defeat when they should have put the Ravens away with the chances they had.

Anyone thinks that week 1 doesn't reveal a window to the season now. All three of these teams have only one win and lots of blowouts and embarrasing moments behind them to boot.
