Default NFL Fantasy Thread

Hey guys,

My fantasy draft is on Saturday, I just wanted to start this thread to see if any of you have any special tips.
Its the first time that Im gonna play for real so I´m looking for a small edge.
Anyway, Im looking for any "sleepers" that you guys might think of.
Thanks a lot guys,
Bulldog

I disagree with that Zootie. I think the defenses will catch on to how he operates.

I like Kitna at QB and Jerious Norwood at RB to better than predicted.

Do you get 1 point per reception? Can make a huge difference. Make sure you get 2 rb's in your first three picks. Do not take a QB in the first two rounds. Late rounders with upside - Santonio Holmes, Devery Henderson, DJ Hackett, Arnaz Battle, Brandon Jones, and Vincent Jackson. They're not necessarily sleepers, but I believe each of them has the talent AND opportunity to be top 20 receiver. All can probably be had with an 8th round pick or lower. Owen Daniels could surprise at TE. Either Cutler and/or Rivers is going to burst into Superstar status this season.

Hope you're right, abacus, since I have both of them on one of my teams.

Thanks for the input so far.
Yes, I do get 1 pt per reception.
Which TE´s would you pick first? Gonzales, Cooley, Crumpler??

Gates would be the TE I would take first. I also think Ben Watson may put up decent #'s. But who knows how the Pats are going to spread the ball around.

I will concur with Ben Watson, as tullamore said. If you think about, I think Moss and Stallworth will stretch the field for the Patriots this season. With the flyers sprinting downfield, that leaves the middle of the field wide open for Watson. Last year, Brady threw to his tight ends tremendously. Part of that was his wide outs were awful. However, I think he liked his TE's and that could continue this season. I think Watson could be huge this year; yards and TDs.

I'll also pick a wide out sleeper. Last year, I posted Cotchery on this very board. This year, I'm gonna go with Malcom Floyd in San Diego. He could be very good if Norv Turner can get Rivers to make big strides this year. Norv loves to give his RB the ball wherever he goes but I think SD's whole key is how Rivers develops this season.

Crumpler was Vick's guy and fit his style. I'd expect his numbers to drop.

That sucks not knowing what type of strategy to use.

Personally, I'd trade down if you get a high pick. I love the rap around picks, because you can have the best of both worlds really. I probably would draft 2 top rated running backs with my first two picks.

Westbrook should have a very good year for the Eagles IMO.

If he can survive a full season and play 16 games, I'll agree.

So much depends on the rules of each league. RB's are usually the first 2 go but it's great to evaluate your players in tiers and know whats left. Always be aware of what positions other teams have drafted and what they might take next. I'm in 5 leagues and there all fun but with all different rules. Keeper league?

You almost have to take LT with the first pick overall Bulldog. However, If I were you I would trade down to the wrap around slot, and grab two running backs that just as good as LT is. Trust me top backs like that will still be there.

Two late round gems will be from the Packers. RB Jackson and WR Jones. These two rookies will have very good numbers and will likely start.
