Question Is Tiki Barber a NFL Hall of Famer?

Has Tiki Barber put up the numbers to prove himself for the NFL Hall of Fame?

Tiki is a class act that I would love see get in, but based purely on numbers I must say NO.

Been awhile since I seen a clean sweep this far into the voting.

15-0 for No.

Super easy no.

He had 5 decent years to finish his career, but he started with 5 blah years. Half-assed decent career, but no HOF.

Not to mention he's got no rings and the Giants underachieved every year of his career except the year they went to the Super Bowl and got smoked by the Ravens.

If you let Tiki into the HOF, you've gotta let every other halfway decent NFL RB into the HOF. Every other NFL team has a halfway decent RB. You'd have to be inducting 5 RBs every year. It's bad enough they induct crackheads like Irvin.

Shouldn't, but it does. Players with rings get extra attention.

Even worse, it often comes down to politics more than anything. Players that want into the HOF had better assemble a lobbying group.

How is Michael Irvin in the HOF and Art Monk not?

That's a damn good question. There's absolutely no reason why Monk shouldn't be in the hall.

I see that Tiki will be part of the NBC football coverage next year. Maybe we will see him start lobbying for an induction.

Who are the dropping? Costas and Collingsworth are their top 2 guys, so who gets booted? Bettus or Shape? Can't have 5 guys in the studio.

I don't know who they will be dropping Slew. I just heard that report today on the radio on my way back from the track.

I think I lean more on the No side, he has a great ypc but seems to have somewhat lower total yards and tds than most of the hall of fame running backs. I wonder if all those fumbles would hurt his chances if he did have a shot.

I just heard that Tiki will be doing some work for the "today show" as well as the Sunday night NFL coverage.

Just read a wire story, but no mention on who they are dropping, unless they put Tiki on feature stories and keep the 4 they have.

Irvin is in broadcasting, Monk isn't.

It's politics, and the HOF voters are sports journalists.

Not so sure about that. Lynn Swann was in broadcasting right after he retired and it took him 20 years to make the Hall of Fame.

I often wondered why Art Monk never made it in the HOF myself. The guys has the numbers, and should have been in there years ago.

He got in, didn't he?

Swann had a relatively short career of only 9 seasons. His stats weren't much. (336 receptions for 5,462 yards and 51 touchdowns.) He's pretty lucky to be in the HOF at all.
