Vick's Water Bottle Raises Suspicion
By GEORGE HENRY, Associated Press Writer 2 hours ago FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. - For the third time in nine months, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick is making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Vick reluctantly surrendered a water bottle to security at Miami International Airport that smelled like marijuana and contained a substance in a hidden compartment. He was not arrested and was allowed to board an AirTran flight that landed in Atlanta before noon Wednesday. Miami police said Thursday it could be weeks before a decision is made on whether to file charges against the three-time Pro Bowler, who this season became the first quarterback in NFL history to rush for 1,000 yards. Under Florida law, possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana is a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in prison and a $1,000 fine. First offenders rarely do any jail time. "We'll do an analysis and see what it is. There's no sense of urgency to it," Detective Alvaro Zabaleta said Thursday. The NFL's substance abuse policy states any team can decide that a player's "behavior, including but not limited to an arrest," can warrant a physical exam from its appointed medical director. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said no decision had been made in Vick's case. "We have a process that provides guidelines for every situation," Aiello said. "Our doctors conduct a lengthy evaluation, if necessary, and then decide if enrollment in a treatment program is necessary." Vick did not return a phone call Thursday. The Falcons said they would have no further comment until they discussed the matter with Vick, who finds himself mired in another embarrassing situation. Last April, Vick settled a lawsuit filed by a woman who claimed the player knowingly gave her herpes. In November, Vick made an obscene gesture toward Atlanta fans who heckled the team as it came off the field after a 31-13 loss to New Orleans. Vick apologized profusely, paid a $10,000 team fine and donated another $10,000 to charity. On Wednesday, two Transportation Security Administration screeners recognized the 6-foot, 215-pound Vick when he was reluctant to turn over his 20-ounce bottle. The bottle was found to have a compartment that contained "a small amount of dark particulate and a pungent aroma closely associated with marijuana," a Miami police report said. The compartment was hidden by the bottle's label so that it appeared to be a full bottle of water when held upright, police said. |

The only differences between Vick and Quincy Carter are that Vick has got game and when arrested he does not have to have a sports radio host bail him out of jail.
Q-Cart recently arrested in Irving on possession of marijuana. Radio talk show host Randy Galloway posted the $500 bail to get Q-Cart out of jail. What a joke. |

I have said it for a long ass time now. Vick is a joke. The most overrated QB in my lifetime with the hype he comes with. He uses his name and skills for all the wrong reasons. Hopefully Blank and Petrino will know Schaub is the Birds future not a guy who looks like a video game character. If you gonna sneak in weed at least use a alias like Ron Mexico....LOL!!!

i have tried to make excuses for him such as "It must have been some white widow or Purple Kush from his Miami growhouse" lol but he is an idiot.
If you saw SNL last night Weekend Update put it to him good. Funny shit. One line was "You cant bring a water bottle on a plane anymore. So You took one thing you cant bring on a plane and put it into another thing you cant bring on a plane" |

The part i thought i was funny was when the comentator said I have friends from High School who love weed and they know to throw the weed away prior to going to the Airport and they dont make 21 Million a year. Someone who makes that kind of money can replace his weed. Also when they said he stored it in a water bottle which is also illegal to bring onto planes. Store your illegal weed in an illegal Water Bottle.

Report: Vick water bottle didn't contain marijuana
January 21, 2007 Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick wasn't carrying marijuana when stopped by security last week at Miami International Airport, ESPN reported Sunday. Citing anonymous NFL sources, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported Vick wasn't carrying marijuana or any other illegal substance. The ESPN report also cited an anonymous Falcons source, who said the team expects to hear something formal by Monday. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello wouldn't comment on the report. He told The Associated Press the league had received no information on the issue. Falcons team spokesman Reggie Roberts told the AP the team had not heard anything and did not know the origin of the ESPN report. Vick did not return a call. Last Wednesday, Vick reluctantly surrendered a water bottle to security at the Miami airport. He was not arrested and was allowed to board an AirTran flight to Atlanta. The bottle was found to have a compartment that contained "a small amount of dark particulate and a pungent aroma closely associated with marijuana," the police report said. Miami police have said it could take weeks to decide whether to file charges. |

first off, Welcome to the SBR forum Tomc
![]() Well, I can see the benefit of using one at certain times. For example, Let say your in a bad part of town, and you get mugged. You know that mugger isn't gonna take your "water bottle". |

I think we all owe Vick an apology. No charges are being filed as no marijuana was found. He's still an underachieving, overpaid, professional athlete that continues to disappoint but he gets a pass on this incident.

Vick is a thug.
Hopefully Goodell runs him out of the NFL with Pacman. It's one thing to be like RayRay who was a thug but kept his nose clean, but these kids like Vick & Packman just don't get the message.
