Default Is 9.5 Enough?

I was looking at this Jets/Patriots games, and I see the line currently at 9.5 right now at Pinny. The Jets have been playing very good football, but there lack of experience in the "big game" might pose problems.

The Jets did beat Pats earlier this year in New England and Mangini does know the Pats schemes and tendencies.

I'm I crazy for liking the Jets in this game?

I think a little bit. Despite Cutler being a rookie, I didn't want any part of Denver limping into Foxboro next week as a 6-point underdog when all Denver has done over the years is defeat the Patriots, Belichick (even with the Jets) and Brady. I'll glady take the Jets despite them beating the Pats last time they played.

I see the Pats winning this handily, but could be like a 20-6 kind of game where neither side is safe.

It's not something I'm going to do , but probably a small moneyline bet on the Jets is the way to go, just in case Mangini has the magic formula to beat the Pats and their regular season win wasn't a fluke.

Otherwise, imagine if you take the points and the Jets find themselves down 10 points, and first and 10 at their own 20, staring at a team that knows how to win at the highest of levels....well, do you want your money riding on Mr. Pennington at that time, in the middle of a PLAYOFF game?

I really like the Jets to keep this one within a TD... They have been playing really well lately and I think Mangini will have them fired up... The Pats are on a roll as well, but this is the playoffs and the games are meant to be close! I think the Jets deserve a play here...

Well, if you think the Jets keep it within a TD, that means they're one play away from taking the lead/winning. Don't you think a +350 moneyline offers some value here?

I mean one in the hand is worth two in the bush, and all that, but this is one in the hand (actually 0.91 in the hand) vs. 3.5 in the bush. I think you got to go for it if you're that close.

The only way I can play this game is the Patriots on the ML even with the amount of chalk. There is no way Belichick loses the big game here. The Pats are a totally different team during the playoffs.

I'm likin the jets here bet here almost as much as I liked the boise state bet. Sort of similar situation imo. Anyway, tho Most signs point to a pats win, but jets defy all logic. Ill prolly thorw 1 unit on the ml and a few units on the spread. Might even be a good tease to use with this game, even though I dont usually like teasers. Dont have strong feeling either way on the scorin atm though to know which way to tease, but playoff big dog specail Jets +19.5 KC +17 Ny +17 looks juicy.

I guess I am standing alone here as I am looking for a New England BLOWOUT. That win by the Jets in Foxboro during the regular season was their only win all year vs. a team with a winning record! The Pats will not take the Jets lightly again, and if they bring their "A" game as I expect, Pats roll by 17+.

Your not alone thinking the Pats are going to blow out the Jets Sunday. I went to the Jets/Pats game the day the Jets won. The field was an absolute mud hole from 3 hours of torrential rain, which stopped just before kickoff. NE's D was beat up at the time and all the Jets did, was LUCKILY play keepaway from Brady, to suck up the clock. NE's D is smoking hot right now even without Rodney. The new field is in, everybody is looking much faster on it, Brady's in better tune with the recievers, and there is NO WAY Belichick loses this game at home AGAIN. Belichick is known for not running up the score against other coaches he respects but WATCHOUT this week. He ain't gonna take his foot off the gas! Even the books can see this coming from a mile away at -9. My .02 Pats 37-17. The teachers' gonna whip the student!

NE is the only thing I could play, but I think this is a good game to just pass.

Yes, playoff games like this often call for the third bet(no play). I smell a NE win on a controversial call, with NYJ covering . . .

Remember that N. E. is only giving up 14.8 ppg., second in the NFL overall. I know that the Jets beat them in N. E. earlier this year but they were dominated in overall yards. They won because of the 3 turnovers they got. N. E. was smoking the Jets 24-0 in the other game when they called off the dogs.

I agree with LT Profits, N.E. will destroy the Jets in this game.

This is my lock for the wildcard round. It's down to 8.5 now, but the history of the series suggests a close game in the neighborhood of a TD difference. Add in that the Jets won in NE by 3 this year and I really dig this one.

Also consider NY's road ATS record this season ... 6-2 and winners of their last four on the road straight up, not to mention that the six wins were straight up on the road this season.

If the jets expect to keep it close they better stop kicking so many fvcking field goals and score some TD's
