Bucs did in 70s . . .
Fourteen game season back then ~ If I remember correctly,
it was their inaugural year . . . 0-14.
They asked the coach after the last game how he felt about
the execution of his team's offensive line and he responded
by saying, "I'm in favour of it".

I think they will stun Denver next week. I am all over the +16.5 and will play the ml for a unit when it comes out.

Even though it would appear this Raiders team goes well out of it's way to win a game, I just don't see them going 0-16 this year. They should end up winning a game or two when some of those teams start to pack it in for the year late in the season.

I know my prediction will be unpopular, but I do not think Denver will get any offense going. I expect a tight game with Oakland winning 16-13.

I back plenty of bad teams (i.e. Utah State and Temple yesterday), but I can't touch these Raiders. They are quite possibly the worst team I've seen in the last 10 years.

I wont argue with you on this one IMG. But I think my Lions will challenge them.

mike shanarat doesn't loose to the raiders, even when they are good. he treats those games like the superbowl. he's had next week circled on his calendar by his bedside table since last january. he loves out coaching whoever is the raiders flavor of the day. he hates al davis, and hates that they never gave him the head job there. he goes out to prove something every time he plays them. i just hope the players don't overlook the raiders. the coach will be ready. he will also try to run the score up big time. yes illusion, as owned said, step away from the crack pipe and take your hands off the mouse and don't click on the ml raider box for this game. now the 16.5 chalk, go ahead with that, but save yourself the unit on the ml.

The problem with this bad team is they have no heart to go along with limited talent. I still say they piece together at least one win this year, though.

I think Oakland can win Sunday as well, the defense whould be pretty succcessful, and maybe they will trust Bailey one on one against Moss and he can get a couple big plays. 17-16 Oakland.

As much as I hate the raiders I think they will win 1-2 games this year. I don't see them going undefeated though. As long as they stick with Walters then they may have a chance to disappoint a team or two.

2 friends of mine want to bet on the raiders going 0-16. Do any books have this prop bet so I can give them some fair odds. If not what odds do you guys think that this bet is approximately. Off the top of my head i suggested a line of about +500 for the raiders to go 0-16.. this could be WAY off but it was just a guess...
what do you guys think?

True odds are about +1600/-1600 mathmetically, with me just making up the ML's in my head. If you give them +800 or so, I am pretty sure you coul give yourself a large scalp by betting 12 ML's in a row.

I wish I had a head like that.
I also agree that the Raiders are >50% likely to stay within 17 of the Broncos.

It's pretty improbable that any team goes winless in the NFL. No matter how much you suck, there's always a chance that you can catch another team sleeping. In football more than any other sport, all you need is one bad day from a QB, one or two turnovers, or some db losing his balance for an upset to happen.
Just look at Indy this past week, BARELY squeeking out a win with a -18 line.

What I mean is I made up the next 11 moneylines and multiplied the 12 on a calculator, if I didn't explain it well. I did project them as a 1.5 point favorite over Houston, but maybe that is generous?

I think teams coming off a big Monday night win do usually lose against the spread the following week but I don't expect the Raiders to beat Denver though. I am thinking it will be a 10 point win by Denver.
As far as Oakland going winless this year, I just think they will win a game at home late in the season against someone that has packed it in for year, I think they have an excellent shot at beating Houston or maybe Arizona on thier schedule. I predict that they will win maybe 2 games.

I was wondering if you still feel the same way after watching Denver's defense last night?
I'm not saying Oakland might not cover, but do you really think they'll "stun" Denver? I just don't see it...

If anyone beats Denver on Sunday, it will be Jake Plummer. No way the Raiders will.

Denver covers going away
Of course I also bet on Indiancrapolis last week...that said, Oakland has a problem in that everything they do is from 1996 not 2006, and I think Shanahan will finally get the offense going against a pathetic Raiders team. I have bet against Oakland every game this year, and it looks pretty good so far, so why stop now...God how I hate Al Davis...

1 or 2 wins much more likely (I don't care HOW bad they look now). Rarely are teams the same from start to finish.

If anyone really believes they'll go 0-16 they should put large sums on their opponent's ML every week. I hope no one is that foolish.

I can't think of a more appropriate reward than an 0-16 season for the wonderful Raiders fans.
They really are the best people on earth. So warm, caring, and such considerate hosts in the stadium.
