Vick Is Not A QB
He has to be one of the 5 worst QB's in football, how this guys plays is behond belief. He cannot pass at all, his ball sails. All a D has to do is key on the Tight End and you beat Atlanta easy. Of course Vick will have some good running games because he is fast but YOU CANNOT WIN IN THE NFL how Vick pays the QB position.
I would make him a wide out and put him in the backfield on 3rd downs and use Schaub as the QB, a much much better QB.

Never liked him either, and love when Atlanta has been overpriced the past couple of seasons, especially Monday night. Vick did throw a great deep pass on the 2nd possession to get the Falcons inside the 10 and his TE did drop an easy TD pass. He short passes are too hard and always sail away from the receiver. Not sure he'll get better as a passer. If not, Atlanta will never go anywhere.

your right about that bud.
Vick just can't pass at all. He should be working on his passing skills in the off season alot more than he does.

Im sticking up for Vick. It sounds like you all are a bunch of sore losers who probably went with ATL-4 last night. Suck it up. Its good to know that you all know more about the position he should be in than the coaches in the NFL. Look at his record and you will see indeed he is a winner. You dont carry an NFL team the way he has the not being a quarterback. If hes so bad go against him every week and get the easy win. Wont happen. No disrespect intended but stop bellyaching and just accept the man had an off night. Not many quarterbacks wouldve won that game in NO last night with the crowd. On top of that he always had defenders in his face. Vick is the man.

Vick attended VA Tech, right?
I don't think this is a sore loser issue, shoes. A year ago Vick polled in as SBR's Most Overrated Quarterback. I have to admit that my vote went to Eli Manning and I still feel pretty good about that, but it's undeniable that Vick look like one of the worst throwers to ever take the field in an NFL game last night. I also say that having posted that NO and the UNDER was the way to play last night's game. Vick will be fine and he'll continue to be a quarterback. To be honest, his receiving options are horrible and they were rarely open at any point in the game. When they were open they dropped the ball. Shoes is correct in that many teams would have looked bad playing in that atmosphere.

Slew is right, Atlanta was and will always be over priced with Vick at the helm. He is a great athlete but not a NFL QB.

yes isetcap, vick attend va tech so i may be a lil biased but cant see him being one of the five worse in the league. I just believe we need to give it a lil time. If he ends up with a losing record or even 9 and 7, then maybe we can start to wonder when Schaub will be coming in. Oh yeah, Schaub is a UVA QB so Im not being biased on that. Good pick on NO and the under.

He took them to the NFC championship 2 years ago. He is not the most accurate passer but he does throw a nice deep ball. He makes up for his inaccurate passing with his feet. Definately not one of the 5 worst QB's in the NFL, that is a ridiculous statement in a league where these QB's are starters.
Kerry Collins, Kurt Warner, Charlie Frye, Daunte Culpepper, Chris Simms

Now that's a good post. I can easily list 18 starting quarterbacks that I would rather replace with Mike.
Losman
Culpepper
McNair
Frye
Carr
Collins
Plummer
Huard
Brooks
Bledsoe
E. Manning
Brunell
Grossman
Kitna
Simms
Warner
Bulger
Smith
In fact, there's only a few guys I can think of that I would bench Mike for.
Brady
Palmer
P. Manning
McNabb
Brees

He's not a better "quarterback" than most quarterbacks in the league, but he makes Atlanta a better offensive team when he is at the helm.

I can't wait til Schaub takes control of a team.. I've been touting Schaub ever since the Virginia days. The guy is a fvckin stud and would take the Falcons to the next level..

Vick
I actually think Vick was pretty accurate as a passer on Monday. He had no time to throw and when he did it was off balance or while being chased by the defense. He was sacked FIVE TIMES. He threw 19 incomplete passes, but most of those were well thrown -- his receivers just didn't make the catches. He didn't throw any interceptions, which is more than you can say for most quarterbacks this week.
23-3 seems like a complete domination, but break it down. Blocked punt and blocked field goal is 10 points. Then there were at least 2 good passes into the endzone by Vick that would have been easy touchdowns if they were caught.
Give Vick a real offensive line, healthy and talented wideouts, and he can compete against any defense in the NFL.
New Orleans' defense played well on Monday, but if the Falcons are healthy on November 26th it will be a completely different story when the Saints visit Atlanta.
