Madden and Michaels said something when it happened, but after that, NBC has been ignoring that play for like 4 hours.

Yeah lets eject players for blocking. The play was still going on and players are allowed to use their hands in order to keep an opposing player from advancing down the field in that situation last time I checked. Later in the game I saw him tackle a perfectly innocent guy who happened to be carrying a football. Ban him for life!

Are you mentally challenged? This is a serious question.

It's called roid rage.
If you look at his career he wasn't that good the first 3 seasons. He got hurt his 3 year. Comes back has 2 amazing years. It's kind of obvious he is on roids

yisman, I agree with DrStale word for word.
Everyone is overreacting to Madden & Michael's comments. The play was live. Harrison was blocking. This is football. Madden & Michaels do have their senior moments, which in this case meant they didn't realize that replay footage was during a live play.
IMHO there shouldn't have even been a flag. Forget ejection. Apparently the ref saw it more as a punch than a block. That's a judgement call.

I didn't think it was that bad. Madden said he "punched him" but he clearly didn't. Penalty yes, ejection no.

he clearly didn't punch him? What was he doing? Tapping him on the shoulder to tell him how much he loves him?
What Harrison did was beyond the pale and far, far worse than what Arizona did to get all those 15 yard personal fouls.

This thread is a ****ing joke. Are you people ****ing retarded?

Blocking? He ****ing attacked him and was talking shit each time he threw him to the ground again. You gotta be kidding me.

My favorite part is how the guy just sits there and takes it. I applaud him for not fighting back, being smart, and avoiding a penalty, but why he didnt at least try to get out of there and/or defend himself had me laughing when it happened live.

It was an open hand to the chest, its looks bad, but not ejection bad...he willed be fined by the league I bet...I saw worst stuff going on after the plays, in the crowds...Harrision was just in the middle of the field.

If by an open hand to the chest you mean a forearm to the back of the head then you might be correct. But it's not the push that everyone is pissed about... it's the multiple punches/forearm strikes Harrison made to the back of the guy's head and neck.

Ejected??? You can't be serious. An open hit to a guys back, and then throws him to the ground, penalty yes, ejection, absolutely not.

You sir and everyone else that do no think that this dirty plays are ejectionable let along worth a penalty flag are a bunch of homers. Seriously take the Steelers goggles off for a second and take a second look at that video. Also, if a player gets fined for a dirty play then why is that not ejectionable to begin with? Think about it for a second.

I hate the Steelers with a passion but that play really wasn't that bad. It was nothing that doesn't happen multiple times in every game. I've seen way worse. Was it a penalty? Probably. But is it worthy of this discussion? Not even close

The blocking was not the problem (just part of the game) the little closed fist jab in clear view at the beginning of the tape is a bit different...whatever..

So is there a certain speed at which you are allowed to make contact with another player? Is open handed okay but closed isnt? It looks bad because the guy he was blocking sat there and took it for god knows what reason. Was it necessary? No. Was it legal? Yes.

way way off. I've never seen someone do what Harrison did. Yeah, I've seen punches occasionally. Not repeated pummeling of a defenseless player, followed by taunting.
I don't think I've ever seen worse, and I watched Rodney Harrison play.

He hit him with an open hand to the back, and then pushed him over. Since when does that get someone ejected?

After watching it closely a few more times, it was an openhand. So, unsure if it was bad...Probably not.

y'all who think that wasn't an "ejectionable" offense are on some NICE crack.. if you don't think he should be ejected for THAT, then almost NOONE should be ejected.. which would be fine w/me as that would def. liven up the game.
i'm just suprised that he didn't make him drop some soap, bend him over, and have more of his way w/him... what a p*ssy for that cheap shot.
