I wouldn't say easy as the cover wasn't a sure thing until Akers kicked a field goal with 2 minutes left. But I am glad you made some money too

Vikings were looking good, behind 14-16 with defense dominating PHI offense and better field position. The game was decided by one Westbrook run, which that late in the game was more of a fluke than anything else. Vikings gave that game away.

Giants will manhandle this Eagles team. Unless the wind blows 100 mph and Jacobs shoots himself in the leg.

Disclaimer. Eagles are only NFL team I can barely stand to watch. Maybe it's the gay dancing by McNabb on the sideline or that little punk punt returner almost spitting the Minny coach in the face. A rookie like that should show a little respect.

I am glad you edited your post! At first you said vikings had the game in hand? Also mentioned a fluke and vikings gave game away. Actually the vikings led one time 7-6 for under four minutes in the second qtr. That was it! Even without the screen pass to Westbrook the vikings still would have lost.

As far as a dominating defense by Minnesota...no...very good against the run...but Mcnabb threw for 300 yards! And congrats to all that had Philly.

I was talking about the spread, but realized that would be misunderstood.

The Vikings gave the ATS win away. I could have expressed that more clearly.

The score was 14-16 at halftime, and 14-16 with about 7-8 minutes left. The Vikings had better field position in the 2H. With McNabb turning the ball over at midfield. Philly backers lucked out.

Don't get me wrong. Luck is part of it. Just tone it down a little on the genius stuff.

Westbrook had 23 touches and was going absolutely nowhere. Except for that one run at the end that went all the way and decided the game and spread. You can call that the law of averages, but in light of the game I would call it a fluke.

It was a screen pass not a run. But whatever, T.jackson lost the game with his incompatence.

The fluke being that his only good run goes all the way for a TD.

I'm not saying that Jackson played well in the 2H. He was alright in the 1H. And once the Vikings were behind by 9 pts they were forced to rely on Jackson, instead of the running game, at which point he showed his limitations.

And again, I'm talking about the spread.

Agree 100% with that! Relying on Jackson ended the game immediately!

That's what happens when you try to contain a dangerous running back by loading up on them. Whenever they bust one out, it is usually a big one. Same thing happened to AP, he had 20 touches for 83 yards. He had a 40 yard TD carry. Without that carry he would have averaged about 2 yards per touch.

So it wasn't a fluke, it is the risk you take when you put so many people close to the line of scrimmage. Either a little screen, or the RB hitting a hole and getting to the second level of your defense, at that point there are only 3 or 4 people (defensive backs and a safety or both) that can make the stop, usually they can't catch up and if they do it is a 30 yard gain or even more.

Exactly what I was thinking... How many times have you seen even against the vikes a team overplay on A.P. and he usually breaks one long t.d every other game. The vikes were stacked against the run and overplaying it. Once the screen pass was completed did you notice how it seemed all the vikes were chasing him instead of any safeties back to make the tackle. Live by the sword die by the sword. The vikes got what they deserved. So stacked up front they never have anyone back to help in deep coverage. Once Westbrook went 10 yards up field, the vikes knew they had been burned as usual.

And how about T. Jackson averaging 4 yards a pass, how could they expect to win? Take away A.P. and not much left, Berrian ok but no one to pass to him. The Eagles are by far the better team of the two.
