Default Jets/Pats

With the way Cassel has turned it around and lack of d on both sides I think the over looks like a pretty good play here. Its at 42 right now, what you guys think?

I have been hearing a lot of support for the over...the only thing that is worrisome is the total for the first game was 29. Division games seem to usually be tough, and low scoring since the two teams know each other fairly well. I would say that both Cassel and Favre are playing a lot better with their respective teams since their first meeting. Favre actually knows the playbook, and Cassel got the rust off from his high school days. I already placed a bet on the Jet ml since I think they have improved as a team (there team is starting to mesh, since they got quite a few new pieces this season). It's more of a value bet since I think this should be a close game and have slight lean toward the Jets.

Although I hate the Pats, they seem like the obvious choice. However if I'm not mistaken, their defense has been plagued by injuries this season. Favre and the Jets proved this past week they can put up some major points on a weak defense (and a weak offense lol). Its a toss-up, I actually would've expected the spread to be a bit less.

The Pats seem to be a very weak team with the string of injuries sorounding them... I wont be surprised if the Jets pigeonhole them...

Possible showers in Foxborough tomorrow, might clear up by game time.

Regardless, I have the Jets and the under.

I believe the Jets will pull this off. This is a team that plays tough when they know they got to win.

The pats have the ability to eat the clock up like no other. They seem content to play games that are decided in the fourth quarter. Colts game is a good example. That being said, the jets have been playing this dink and dunk offense, and not letting favre air it out too much. I like the pats to squeeze out a close one in a relatively low scoring game. 17-16

jets +3 1/2 looks good
weather may be a factor
favre/tjones tough in bad weather
both coaches may pull out a surprise or two, but looks like both teams will run alot keeping the score low and close

Jets +3.5 is the only way I can take this game. Don't even see the patriots winning this game and cassell is do for a horrid game. Sit back and rack in the cash boys.

I think this game comes down to coaching. Coach Bill has Mangini's number and will know how to make Favre make mistakes. On offense, the Pats will play ball and clock control. Pats 17-9.

Weather Update: The weather in NE will be a "monsoon" tonight per ESPN's Marcellus Wiley. WCVB's website reports: "Rain could become heavy during the game at Foxboro. Temperatures will be in the 40s to near 50. Winds might gust over 20 mph".

I'm solidly on UNDER 42 for 2 units. The Jets have a good enough running attack to go conservative with Jones and Leon. I may also parlay the NYJ ML with the Under here for a quarter unit/half unit.

Hey Baba! Good to see you back. Must be basketball season?

I'm on the U42 for the same reason.

Yep, Dark Horse. Nice to be back. Let's get this NBA season rolling pretty soon. I've been observing the first 2 weeks and am ready to start hopping up my unit size to normal.

And yeah, the Under 42 seems great tonight. For those who are inclined, you could actually tease NYJ through the 7 and 10 as well. A 7 point teaser nets you NYJ +10.5 and UNDER 49 (7 TDs) while a 6.5 pointer gives you NYJ +10 and Under 48.5. I've considered NYL ML-Under 42 parlay just to maximize what I think is a great situation. I liked the Jets before the weather update but I love them now. As long as Favre doesn't go gunslinger (it seems as though the coaching staff has calmed him down lately), then this should be a nice play today. Only thing keeping this from going under would be a couple Defensive/Special Teams TDs (or a completely inaccurate weather report).

Nice to have you back baba. Sorry bout your Spurs.

Dig the teaser. If I didn't already have a nice chunk on the jets ml and spread I would have jumped on a jets/under 7 pt teaser

thanks Deluxe Liner. Sorry about your Dodgers. As a Maddux fan, I was rooting for them.

Yeah, that teaser looks too good right now. I got on it. Think that the total will be dropping all afternoon, and with it, the line. Should be 40 and -3 at kickoff, I'd assume.
