Default Eddie Royal or Matt Ryan rookie of the year.

Eddie Royal looks like the next great thing. He kinda like a Santana Moss or Reggie Wayne in the making. I can see him being a good candidate for rookie of the year if Matt Ryan fails anytime soon.

Royal should definitely be in the top 2... I was thinking Felix Jones before he got injured but now he doesn't have time to make up points... He is averaging like 9 yards a carry though!

Matt Ryan deserves it. The Falcons have always passed the O/U 4.5 wins Vegas set.

Matt Ryan will win it easily. Just the fact of the whole Mike Vick thing, this has been a big turnaround for that team.

The problem with Chris Johnson is he's not getting the credit for the Titans winning as much as Matt Ryan is for the Falcons.

Number of good candidates...

Ryan
Forte
Johnson
Flacco

I'd give it to Ryan right now...but still half a season to go.

I feel like a complete fraud not mentioning Matt Forte with Chris Johnson. THOSE guys are winning football games. Matt Ryan is NOT winning them - Turner/Norwood/ATL defense is. If you watch every game, you'd agree. BUT if you just watch sportscenter - then yeah.... You know what goes on in the NFL.

wow its definitely NOT eddie royal

people ahead of eddie royal include:

1. Matt Ryan
2. Joe Flacco
3. Chris Johnson
4. Matt Forte
5. DeSean Jackson
6. Tim Hightower (ok maybe Eddie Royal is ahead of him)
7. Felix Jones was on pace before the injury

Matt Ryan for the simple fact that Atlanta has more wins now than they were projected to get at the beginning of the season.
He may potentially lead them right into the playoffs.
He's going to be a top QB is this league for years to come barring a major injury.

Johnson leading the Titans to 9-0. Without him they are meat.

I like Johnson but didn't the Titans win yesterday despite his off day? So I would hardly call that team meat without him.

I like either Johnson or Ryan for ROY - the turnaround in the Falcons is huge and can't be overstated so I lean to Ryan.

Royal is exciting but he is a #2 receiver this season whereas these two guys are stars.

You are right my friend, but the reason that Collins was able to pick them apart was because of Johnson in the backfield... They had 8 man fronts the ENTIRE first half. Mike Brown was playing like a 4th linebacker. You can't tell me if it were just LenDale back there they would do this.

Either way, good point. I think Ryan and Johnson are neck and neck...
