Default Gotta Luv Da Broncos -3 vs Bucs

Alright, Last week lost KC 19-33 is just an aberration. The 33 points Denver gave up is more deceiving than how bad the D really is, overall I thought the secondary played well until they gave up in the final two minutes. Everyone's probably saying if Damon Huard and the anemic Chiefs offense can get 33 on Denver why can't the Bucs? Well the Bucs won't be benefiting from 4 turnovers at the midfield from Denver this time around, and they don't have any running backs capable as LJ to give Brian Grieses any play action opportunities to throw deep.

Brian Griese is a very average passer, I know this because I've watched every game he played when he was in Denver. This guy will not scare any secondary throwing the ball deep because he has a weak arm. If this becomes a shootout which it will be, the Bucs doesn't have the Personnel to challenge Denver in a high scoring affair. Even though Denver only scored 19 in KC, they could of very well easily score 35 to 40 if they didn't killed themselves with 4 turnovers and not capitalizing in the many Red Zone opportunities they had.

The Bucs Secondary is very shaky and their top corner Rhonde Barber is not fully confidence with himself. Brandon Lloyd took him & Co to school a week earlier (127 yd) and then Greg Jennings (109yd) last week. Brandon Marshall or Eddie Royal will take advantage of these guys. No body has really stop the Broncos to this point, the Chiefs gave up 465 yards to Denver and it wasn't in garbage time. I don't see the Bucs with that weak secondary doing any different.

I don't believe Brian Griese is capable of surviving a shootout at mile high on the road, and Denver's juggernaut offense will continue to move the ball at ease against anybody, which is why the Broncos -3 is a can't pass proposition.

We shall see, but Tampa has had of the best pass defenses since Monte Kiffin and Dungy put in the Tampa 2. I don't know if this year is a transition year or just a product of a few games, but Tampa hasn't been very good against the against the pass this year. That being said, it wouldn't shock me at all if they pick Cutler a few times, and don't allow him to throw the ball down the field.

One thing Denver can't do is expect to pass to win the game. If they don't at least try to run the ball, the TOP will be completely in favor of Tampa. And we all know anyone can run on Denver, so I wouldn't expect that to change at all.

I am probably not going to play this game, but I would lean towards Tampa.

I'm not playing this game either, but it should be fun to watch as a fan. Tampa's D is plenty decent and it should be fun to see Cutler try to shoot it up, which he may very well do.

I agree that Griese is a 2nd tier QB at best. I'm not really sure why Gruden loves him so much all of the sudden, but maybe Gruden is simply sick of Garcia's lip. Personally, I'd maybe even stick McCown in there. But the Bucs are winning with Griese, so who am I to judge?

If the Broncos D could hold a team to under 30 points one time I might start to think about backing them, but as it is, it's very risky.

I'm taking Denver -3 with you (Just locked it in since the line dropped from 3.5).... Cutler is going to be out for blood this week, blaming himself for Sunday's loss.

Tough tough game. There are better games to play this week.

and the cards would have beat the jets if they scored more points than them, whats your point here thats why they play the game, and theres rules and TURNOVERS if broncos were so good they wouldnt get 4 TURNOVERS.

Nah, I took the Chiefs at +9.5 if you reread what I posted last week.

Sometimes when you spend too much time worrying about what's a public line or not you'll end up losing by over analyzing. It better to just keep things simple, and hammer a good one when you see it.

Let me repeat these two reasons why Denver is the right play and the only play.

1)There has not been a single team this season that has been able to stop the Denver offense from moving the ball up and down at will. If Denver can convert Touch downs with the many Redzone opportunities they will get against Tampa, they will win this one easily.

2) Brian Griese will not march the Tampa bay offense up and down like SD or NO. He's a backup QB at best, and doesn't have the ability to pick the Denver secondary apart. The main reason why KC scored 33 points is because they benefited from 4 turnovers all in Denver's territory and several long kickoff returns. Not because of the Broncos D playing horribly, like they did against SD or NO. This Tampa offense is just as anemic as KC, they will need several extra possessions to have a chance.

Denver will score at ease, and Griese inability to put up alot of points is why the Broncos will cover the -3 easily.

Are you a homer? Denever can't stop anybody.

This is a tough game with that line... It could be a blowout in favor of Denver.
BUT - Tampa can run the football pretty well and play small ball and work the clock. It's going to come down to mistakes. I favor the points, but yeah, impossible game to pick.

Griese may not need to pass the ball much at all. I expect Gruden to try to play a smashmouth run game with clock control to keep the ball out of Cutler's hands. With Denver's run D, they might not be able to stop Tampa from successfully exploiting this plan.

As for Denver being such an explosive offense, it's not like they've been playing a murderer's row of defenses so far this year. Saints, give me a break. Raiders, they are in turmoil. KC, they are rebuilding. Even SD hasn't shown their trademark steller defensive play yet this season with the loss of Merriman. Tampa will be the best D Denver has seen to this point and it may not be the same story as we've seen to this point in this season.

Actually, after saying all week that I am passing this game, I am now playing it after looking closer.
