Default Jimmy Boyd: Play Lions -6˝ vs. Packers

Play Lions -6˝ vs. Packers

Game Time: 9/24/2006 1:00:00 PM

By: Jimmy Boyd

Look for the Lions to bounce back this week in Detroit over the Packers.

After getting embarrassed by the Bears last week, I like the Lions to come back big in this one against the struggling Packers.

Detroit has a solid defense and a capable offense where as the Pack has no defense at all and an offense prone to turnovers. The Lions played Seattle extremely tough at home in Week 1 and they’ll dominate the Packers here.

Play: Lions -6˝

Not so sure on this game, probably will stay away from it. You got two losing teams that will try to get their first win, so anything can happen and any team can show up to win............but gl to ya!!!!!!!!!!!!

Detroit is averaging 6.5 point per game and that's what they're are favored by. I know Green Bay is bad, but at least their offense found some rythem last week unlike Detroit.

Too many points - bad odds
Not even worth playing, at first glance.

GB is barely better than Oakland, give them the points and take Detroit at home.

haha, it's funny cuz it's true.
Unbearable game to watch.
I hope it's fun with botched snaps, fake punts, blocked kicks, interceptions with fumbles on the return, etc, etc.
mm..bad football.

I watched the Packers vs Saints game last week-end and I was truly impressed by the Packers. Their pass defense pass terrible but they pressured the QB and their offense got on track. I picked Green Bay +6.5 in my pool and I think Green Bay will win this game.

I got a bunch of brats (the GOOD Johnsonvilles, not those pre-cooked hotdog kind) to watch the Pack play bad this weekend. A Packer fan just has to have something to ease the pain..

Woo! Go Pack!
hehe, this game will be brutal.
Anyone wanna make a side bet on punts+turnovers? haha.

I like Detroit alot in this game. Favre hasn't fared well versus Detroit and in Domes. Detroit is not a bad team and Martz will figure out this offense this week..

Martz has owned the Packers when the Pack is on the road.
The ownage is pretty harsh, too.

I see Detroit shutting down GB on offense. GB will lose the battle at the line of scrimmage, badly. There will be no GB run game. GB pass protection will be erratic, once again. Favre will need to throw lasers, once again under pressure, for the Pack to do ANYTHING on offense.

Conversely, the Packers D may shut down Detroit on offense. Detroit hasn't shown anything yet this year, although they've faced maybe two of the best defenses in the NFC. It remains to be seen whether Detroit can get it going on offense. GB's biggest weakness, the secondary, is also the Lions biggest weakness, the WR corp. If Detroit shows ANYTHING on offense, this game will be a blowout.

Otherwise, the difference maker will be special teams. Detroit has been solid this year, but GB has been just horrendous. Expect at least +1 TO differential to Det just on special teams.

Chicago yes, but I am not sold that Seattle has a better defense than a Carolina or Atlanta quite yet..

Defense or not, current form Favre in a dome is a scary thought
