Labor-free Monday
Yesterday pretty much sucked, as we overvalued Syracuse offensively, and then lost our late play, in which we had the right side, but were unfortunate to miss by ½ point. The lone bright spot was winning our total to move to 4-0 on the year in that area. Anyway, here are today’s plays, which I copied from my post earlier this week in the thread titled Razz‘s NCAA Football, Week 1:
NCAA Football Overall (12-6-0, +4.10*)
NCAAF Sides (8-6-0, -1.90*)
2* Miami (FL) -3 @ Florida St.
NCAAF Totals (4-0-0, +6.00*)
2* Miami (FL) @ Fla St. Under 39.5
1* Mississippi @ Memphis Under 50.0
We like a good bit of baseball today. Nice to see a couple of you already have posted some of what we are going with.
Baseball Overall (71-44-1, +59.38*)
Baseball Sides (42-29, +40.53*)
3* Reds (Claussen) vs. Brewers (Ohka) -135
Recent sweep at hands of Braves notwithstanding, Reds have been hot lately. At home with the better pitcher, we are jumping on this price.
3* Mets (Trachsel) @ Braves (Thomson) +124
Trachsel has pitched once since return from injury, and it was a shutout victory. Now he is an underdog to John Thomson? We’ve played against Thomson his last two starts, winning both, and we’re not passing up this situation.
2* A’s (Blanton) vs. Mariners (Hernandez) -124
Hernandez is promising, but we’re not passing up this price with Blanton in a game the A’s need after losing two in a row to Yankees.
1* Boston (Schilling) -1.5 vs. Chisox (McCarthy) +115
We’re expecting Schilling to stop pitching like Bronson Arroyo in his third start back. Boston's offense will probably outscore Florida St.'s.
1* Nationals (Hernandez) vs. Marlins (Vargas) -118
Nationals still hanging in playoff race, and seem to have found some offense recently. Hernandez has righted the ship, and Vargas has struggled last two starts (Gave up 5 runs against bad Cubs offense, still getting victory, and then getting shelled by the Cardinals).
Baseball Totals (29-15-1, +18.85*)
5* Astros (Pettite) @ Phillies (Myers) Under 8.0 -105
Not sure where this total came from. Not that it can’t go over, but the Astros’ anemic offense against a solid pitcher in Myers, and the Phillies’ left-hand laden offense against Pettite, who has been scorching. Toss in the fact that this series will have a playoff atmosphere, and we have a strong play.
3* Rangers (Loe) @ Twins (Silva) Under 9.0 -115
Loe has been hot, Twins are worst offensive team in AL, and Silva and that bullpen should hold Rangers to 4 or 5 at most.
2* Giants (Hennessey) @ Dodgers (Lowe) Over 7.5 -110
We had over in Lowe’s last start, and the game nearly went over despite his pitching a shutout. We don’t think he makes it three quality starts in a row today, and even if he does, Hennessey can give up 8 runs.

Schilling gets hammered every time he goes out there ... White Sox are the value play in this game at +145 ... This game could easily go over (11).

I loved West Virginia last night ... The line was -3.5 all day except of course when I bet it late when it moved to -4 (Bodog) ... Grrrrrrrrrr ... Well anyway, whacked the Yanks at a sweet +117 ... Good luck to all today.

Limited card from my viewpoint. I'll take a couple:
Chicago Cubs(Prior) over St. Louis(Morris)---1 unit @ +118 @ BetWWTS
Houston(Pettitte) over Philadelphia(Myers)---1.5 units @ +102 @ VIP Sports
Good luck today, gentlemen.

Funny stuff, Razz. "Boston RedSox will outscore the Florida St. offense".........Really enjoy your stuff.
I was about to say, "Well, where's your under play in Miami/FSU?"....It's right there in black and white. I think recent history has dictated very low scoring games in this series if I'm not mistaken. With no FSU QB worth a flip, that might be a rather strong play.

He's down an early break. I'm more confident in the parlay myself. Massu has retired a lot in the past, although he is a pretty good fighter (Bets get voided at Bodog if anyone retires, I believe Canbet is 1 set, right?) I think it's closer than the odds indicate, but Coria is definitely the favorite. Let's hope. Enjoy the madness here http://www.usopen.org/en_US/scores/index.html

Adding another play for the USO:
2* Schnyder -120
If she can keep her serve going as she has against Lena D.'s, too big an advantage to pass at this price.
