their defense and receiving core would be tops....they'd need a qb that knows how to play and a rb that can stay healthy

When the Browns rejoined the NFL as an expansion team back in 1999, I made a roster from active players with the name "Brown".

    QB Dave Brown (NYG/AZ 92-01)
    WR Tim Brown (Oak 88-03)
    WR/PR/KR Troy Brown (NE 93-07)
    WR Na Brown (Phi 99-01)
    TE Derek Brown (NYG/Jax/Oak/AZ 92-99)
    RB Gary Brown (Hou/SD/NYG 91-99)
    FB Reggie Brown (Sea 96-00)
    LT Lomas Brown (Det/AZ/Cle/NYG 85-02)
    LG Ruben Brown (Buf/Chi 95-07)
    C Anthony Brown (Cin/Pit 95-99)
    RG Ray Brown (AZ/Was/SF/Det 86-05)
    RT Orlando Brown (Bal/Cle 94-05)

    CB Fakhir Brown (SD/NO/STL 99-08)
    CB Lance Brown (AZ/Pit/Buf 95-01)
    CB J.B. Brown (Mia/Pit/Az/Det 89-00)
    S Eric Brown (Den/Hou 98-04)
    S Corwin Brown (NE/NYJ/Det 93-00)
    LB Cornell Brown (Bal 97-04)
    LB Chad Brown (Pit/Sea/NE 93-07)
    LDT Gilbert Brown (GB 93-03)
    RDT Doug Brown (Was 98-99)
    DE Jonathan Brown (GB/STL 98-01)
    DE Cyron Brown (Den 98-99)

    K Kris Brown (Pit/Hou/SD 99-10)

    Reserves:
    LT Jamie Brown (Den/SF/Was 95-99)
    RT James Brown (NYJ/Mia/Cle 93-00)

With this lineup, the offensive line would be among the top in the league. But I struggled mightily to fill the DE/LB position. So, I decided to run the nickel as a base defense. I'm also being forced to start two DE's who were basically practice squad guys. I did have to convert a guard to center. Also, I'd probably have to ask my place kicker to take on punting duties as well.

You could probably create a team with just Williams too.

Or McCoy: you'd have Colt, LeSean, Gerald, and, um... oh darn. There goes that idea.

You could probably do this with many collegiate teams that has a pedigree. Penn State, Michigan, Alabama, FSU, USC, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, etc. Not too hard.

I can't resist. Let's see if I can make an all Brown lineup from players active in 2010.

    RB/QB Ronnie Brown (Mia 05-10)
    RB Donald Brown (Ind 09-10)
    RB/KR Aaron Brown (Det 09-10)
    WR Reggie Brown (Phi/TB 05-10)
    WR/PR Antonio Brown (Pit 10)
    TE/DE Kareem Brown (NE/NYJ/NYG/Ten 07-10)
    LT Duane Brown (Hou 08-10)
    LG Milford Brown (Hou/Az/Stl/Jax/Det 03-10)
    C Jason Brown (Bal/Stl 05-10)
    RT Jammal Brown (NO/Was 05-10)
    RT Levi Brown (Az 07-10)

    RCB Sheldon Brown (Phi/Cle 02-10)
    FS/SS C.C. Brown (Hou/NYG/Det 05-10)
    S Stevie Brown (Oak 10)
    DB Sergio Brown (NE 10)
    DB Tarell Brown (SF 07-10)
    DB Mike Brown (Chi/KC 00-10)
    LB Ricky Brown (Oak 06-10)
    DE Everette Brown (Car 09-10)
    DT Tony Brown (SF/Ten 04-10)
    DL Alex Brown (Chi/NO 02-10)
    DE Titus Brown (Cle 08-10)

    K Josh Brown (Sea/Stl 02-10)

    Reserves:
    DB Ralph Brown (NYG/Min/Cle/Az 00-10)
    CB/KR Cornelius Brown (Ind 10)

On defense, I'd have to use a dime package as the base defense. On offense, I had to squint my eyes really hard to find a way to get 11 players onto the field. For the final piece of the puzzle I'm using a Kareem Brown as TE, who is basically a practice squad DE who the Jets tried to convert to TE a few years ago. Close enough for me!

The NFL is creating another expansion franchise for 2011 called the Utah Mormons. Here's the roster:

    QB Troy Smith (Bal/SF 07-10)
    RB Kevin Smith (Det 08-10)
    RB Kolby Smith (KC/Den/Jax 07-10)
    WR Steve Smith (Car 01-10)
    WR Steve Smith (NYG 07-10)
    WR/KR/QB Brad Smith (NYJ 06-10)
    TE Alex Smith (TB/NE/Phi/Cle 05-10)
    T Andre Smith (Cin 09-10)
    RG Wade Smith (Mia/NYJ/KC/Hou 03-10)
    T Jason Smith (Stl 09-10)

    CB Sean Smith (Mia 09-10)
    SS Eric Smith (NYJ 06-10)
    S Anthony Smith (Pit/GB/STL/Jax 06-10)
    CB Alphonso Smith (Den/Det 09-10)
    LB Daryl Smith (Jax 04-10)
    LB Bryan Smith (Phi/Stl/Jax 08-10)
    LB Kelvin Smith (Mia/NYG/Car/Chi 07-10)
    DE Justin Smith (Cin/SF 01-10)
    DT Shaun Smith (NO/Cin/KC 04-10)
    DT/DE Robaire Smith (Ten/Hou/Cle 00-10)
    DE Will Smith (NO 04-10)

    P Hunter Smith (Ind/Was 99-10)
    KR/PR Clifton Smith (TB/Cle/Mia 08-10)

    Reserves:
    QB Rusty Smith (Ten 10)
    QB Alex Smith (SF 05-10)
    WR/SpTm Marcus Smith (Bal 08-10)
    RB Antone Smith (Atl 10)
    S DeAngelo Smith (Cle/Dal/Chi/Det 09-10)
    DB/PR Reggie Smith (SF 08-10)
    CB Keith Smith (Det/SF 04-10)
    DE Aaron Smith (Pit 99-10)
    DE Antonio Smith (Az/Hou 04-10)
    DE/DT LeKevin Smith (NE/Den 06-10)

I can't quite complete the offensive line, but the Defense has nice depth!
