Default Panthers' Peppers misses second day of practice

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Carolina defensive end Julius Peppers missed his second day of practice Thursday with a shoulder injury and is still listed as questionable for the NFC Championship Game against Seattle.

Peppers, who was injured in last week's divisional playoff win over Chicago, was also feeling ill. Unlike the day before, when he watched practice from the sidelines, Peppers was seen walking toward his car while the Panthers were on the field.

Still, his teammates believe he'll be ready to go against the Seahawks on Sunday.

"Oh, he'll be back, he's a gamer," safety Mike Minter said. "You can afford, at this point in time, to miss a couple of practices and still be fine for the game. You've played enough football that rust is not going to set in at this point."

Defensive tackle Kindal Moorehead (ankle) also missed practice Thursday and is listed as questionable.

Meanwhile, defensive tackle Jordan Carstens (illness), fullback Brad Hoover (ankle), Minter (wrist), and offensive linemen Jeff Mitchell (knee) and Tutan Reyes (toe) all practices and were upgraded to probable.

It seems like half their team is banged up. They really need him to play.

The Bears didn't win the game but they beat the hell out of Carolina.
