Default Jets remind you of the Skins???

Do the NYJ remind anyone of the skins? They went out and grabbed a bunch of high priced free agents and good players and it is a good bet they did not consider chemistry.

No recent team comes to mind that has been successful without chemistry. Look at the Chargers. Win based on pure talent but when the going gets tough (playoffs) they fold like bed sheets.

It will be interesting to see but I will be shocked if the NYJ make the SuperBowl. It just seems too easy to pick them.

Their 3rd, 4th and 5th games are against division opponents, that is a tough stretch. 2-2 for the first 4 would be expected. 4-0 unreal. 3-1 a hot start. And 0-4.........exactly where I would like to see them.

Actually they don't remind me of the redskins at all. They took a really strong core group and added talented veteran castoffs, mostly on D. They have a young gun quarterback who's shown flashes of talent but is mostly entrusted with managing the game, and an awesome power run game.

That should remind you of someone very different from the Redskins (who are trying to polish a turd)

They added too many veterans and drafted only few. They'll be in trouble.

The Jets need to be the Colts with Peyton Manning playing and the Patriots with Wes Welker playing. Then I would take them more seriously.

The Jets reminds me of the Steelers and Giants.

this, they didn't sign a big name free agent and pretended all the holes on their roster were filled.

They will suffer from a Sophmore jinx that will hit their QB and their HC. The circus that was Ryan is now over. His act only lasts so long. The Jets will be competitive in the East, but are certainly no runaway winners of the East. They open against Baltimore (Monday Night) and against New England, both at home. That will tell the story.

People keep talking about Sanchez's "Sophomore slump" which is strange because his rookie year was not that good statistically. If anything he should be better this year because of elective surgery to clean up a lingering injury.

The Jets were good in '08 as well and would have cruised into the playoffs if Favre hadn't been injured. You take an elite running game and elite D and add this offseason and it spells the Jets going deep in the playoffs again.

There has been a long running similarity between the Jets & Redskins. Anyone ever heard the phrase "Jetskins"?

Riggins was a Jet for 5 years before going to the Redskins. Then there were the recent Santana Moss, Leverneous Coles Jetskins. Coles even left and came back to the Jets.

How are the Jets like the Redskins? The core of our team was built through the draft:

    Offense

    Sanchez
    Ferguson
    Mangold
    Moore (UFA)
Ducasse (Will prob be starting this season)
    Greene
    Cotchery
    Keller

    Defense

    Ellis
    Thomas
    Harris
    Revis
    Wilson

That's a lot of our best players, our 3 best are probably Revis, Mangold and Brick. Secondly unlike the Redskins Tanny deals where he sees value, he doesn't just go out and throw ridiculous sums of money at anyone. We didn't give up too much for example to get Sanchez (3 scrubs and a 2nd), we didn't give up much to get Holmes (A 5th), Edwards (3rd IIRC) or Cromartie (Conditional 3rd in 2011).

To sum up we've built a solid foundation through the draft and have made deals where there's deals to be made. The comparisons to Washington are ridiculous in so many ways. I wouldn't expect a Pats fan to see that though.

LOL, Good reply Mr. Jet. I was mainly referring to the chemistry angle. As a Jets fan who is used to getting stomped by a bunch of guys who loved playing together in NE, you should be aware of the chemistry angle. But with Loud Mouth Ryan as a coach. I wouldn't expect a Jets fan to see that though.

No they dont. Snyder spends money on bullshit that hurts the Skins for years to come. And the Jets have a solid front office that know what it takes to win. Hiring Ryan as coach was the best move they made.

I haven't been impressed by Sanchez. He doesn't seem to have the same abilities like the other franchise QBs.

Their defense is nasty, but Jason Taylor and LT are D-O-N-E. I dont understand the trade of Leon Washington, and Sanchez will take a step back this year. Not that he was anything special last year.

I expect the Jets to be better this regular season, but worse in the postseason.
Really hard to be making this kind of comparisons, though, since it's not cut clear thus far if Sanchez will be worse or if psychological issues will take place there. My projections for the Jets are pretty good anyway.

There is no good reason to think Sanchez will be any worse than last year with the addition of Santonio Holmes and the elective surgery he underwent at the end of last season.

I think he showed some potential, and will develop pretty well as an NFL QB.

This "chemistry factor" and "sophomore slump" stuff is all wishful thinking, probably from Pats and Fins fans.

Seriously? Is that why you're last Superbowl appearance came after completely revamping your team?

So we made some changes but we've upgraded and that's a hell of a lot more important than Chemistry. You're reaching with every point you make. Look at the Redskins, their problem hasn't been chemistry - All the chemistry in the world doesn't make guys like Brandon Lloyd and Antwaan Randle El any less shit.

HEY HEY Randle el had many ..many I say suck sucky days and the only reason he return punts or played anything for that matter is because he had pic's of snyder giving portis a bj
