Default Atlanta Falcons 2010 win total

I am shocked that some books have the Falcons over/under season win total at 8. They went 9-7 last year and didn't play up to their potential. They have added an influx of defensive talent, have two rebuilding teams in the division (panthers and bucs) catch the steelers and cardinals early when the perv is suspended and leinart's ability to run the offense is unknown. Assuming that the saints don't have everything fall perfectly for them again this year, why wouldn't i assume the falcons won't hit double digit wins and compete for the division title?

Am i missing something or does this seem like a no brainer?

This is easy money. The Falcons will improve this year. I would be genuinely suprised if they did not win 10 games. They play the NFC West, and get Arizona and San Francisco at home. That could be 4 wins right there. They play the AFC North, but go to Pitt in week 1,when Big Ben is not playing. They also go to Cleveland and get BAltimore and Cincinnati at home. I can see 3 wins out of that group. That adds up to 7 wins right off the bat.

I'm really not sure what to make of the Falcons, but you both have good points

Saints fan, and Id even think this would be an easy bet. Tampa Bay will be better, but there are still 2 easy wins. Same with Carolina

Agree, this is easy. They'll get at leat 10 wins, 12 more likely.

They also get the Rams too, which should be another free win.

Over 8 is a solid play.

Falcons have a fairly easy schedule. They get to play the NFC West, the worst division in the NFL. They also get the AFC North, which is tough, but they do get the Browns and even the Bengals are up and down. They also get the Packers @ home & the Eagles who are both probably overrated at this point. In the division, the Bucs and Panthers might be an easy 3-1 as well as the Saints who might be slumping, especially early, coasting off their Super Bowl victory. I definitely like the way the schedule sets up, which teams they are playing when and in what venue.

    Valuable play there, man.
I just don't think they'll get their division title. Atlanta = Wild card weekend this year

I noticed the Falcons balance thier passing and rushing plays. They are not exactly a passing team and not exactly a rushing team, but both. Kinda like the Cowboys and Ravens.

I can't get a good read on this team. I don't know much about thier plays.

o8 looks like a solid play, i'm predicting a playoff berth for them.
