I can't tell you how many people I had to argure with about how overrated Notre Dame's offense was and how OSU's defense would manhandle them. Now they have been EXPOSED! Sorry Irish Fans. Your boys got worked.

I havent voted yet but Oregon has to get some consideration because they were like ranked 6th!! And although the score was close they let a 7-4 team ride them like a $15 whore.

compelling argument...especially considering they were bitching about how they belonged in a BCS matchup.

every time i think of oregon i think of my favorite nintendo game...DUCK HUNT...with that crazy gun that had the click trigger.

How about Fresno State? At one point could hang with USC, end the season not even deserving of being ranked.

considered putting them in but they weren't even ranked going into their bowl game. they had already been exposed.

they are their own worst enemies in terms of being overrated because pat hill has always talked a big game.

Notre Dame was over rated or better said they just dont have the talent of an elite Big 10 team like Ohio St. They had a great year and hung tough.

There was no shame in Notre Dame's performance. I don't think they were overrated either. They may not be one of the top 5 teams in the country, but they're among the top 10.

That Ohio State team is incredible. Sorry to say John, but if they had a rematch now against Texas, the outcome would be very different.

I was really surprised the Badgers won outright. I thought they would cover the 10.5, but I never gave them a chance to win the game by double digits. I think their win shows two things: Auburn is overrated and Barry Alvarez is one of the best coaches in the country.

Oregon (and the rest of the Pac 10) was incredibly overrated this season. I don't think Georgia or West Virginia are overrated, they're both solid teams. Michigan was supposed to contend for the national title so I would consider them to be the most overrated this season.

I don't think ND belongs anywhere near the top 10, it was a joke they were ranked as high as they were all year. Ohio State choked away their game against Texas and that was with Smith not even playing the whole game, if they played today, I think they win easily.

People seem to forget that The Irish were two plays (missed FG vs. Michigan St. and the officiating screw job against USC) away from playing in the national championship instead of USC.

I don't see how you can say that this team is not in the top 10 because I can only come up with 7 or 8 teams who are better than them.

What missed FG in the MSU game? I just remember them coming back down from 20+ points in the 2nd half to tie that one. Even as pathetic as Miami looked against LSU, I think they only lose to USC on ND's schedule. I can think of 15+ teams that would have only had 1 loss if they played ND's schedule, maybe 2 (by losing to Michigan and not Mich. State). Sure when they score, it looks nice and dandy, but solid teams can limit their offense. Their defense can't hang on the field with any team and coach that has any notion of how to shred a mediocre defense like theirs. Any team with great team speed on the offensive side of the ball, no matter how weak the other areas of the squad are would stand a very good chance of defeating the Irish.

I just looked up the game log on the MSU/ND game, MSU missed two FGs and ND missed one, so that kinda washes out, IMHO.

And while I don't think Oregon is an elite team, I don't think it's necessarily fair to put too much stock into their loss to Oklahoma, that was a pretty clear side considering the context. Same as Cal last year, it's a major letdown from being shafted from a BCS game by being sent to San Diego to play in the Holiday Bowl. If these bowls actually meant something (as in playing toward a championship, playoffs?), then it'd be a different story.

In 40 hours, the answer might be USC, but right now I don't think the answer can be anyone besides Miami.

I have to also say Miami - Great defense - Anyone who says ND is overated is a complete moron. This was a 7 point game with about 3-4 minutes left. Clearly OSU is the better team but ND showed up and played very well. They are clearly a top 10 team. IM OUT

Easily ND...anyone who doesn't say Notre Dame is a complete moron. OSU manhandled ND the entire game...you never got the sense that ND would win the game and OSU offensively could do anything they wanted to on ND....3 and 9 they convert, 3 and 11 they convert and so on and so forth....when it came time for ND to step up...they bent like the sissies they are. ND is, on their best day, a top 20 to top 25 team. There are about a good 18-22 solid teams in in NCAAF who would be able to beat ND (easily) on a netural site.

Not sure what happened with Miami but they were clearly a team that gave up in that game...they had a nice win against VT but that's really about it....but the prize for overrated teams (of the year and decade) goes to ND

Notre Dame - outmanned and most importantly nowhere near as fast as OSU. Only a fraud because of the public's glorified perception of the Domers.
Miami - At least as good as LSU, they lost because they got behind and gave up. Larry Coker is a joke of a coach, and should have been the one fired yesterday. My vote for FOY.
Georgia - Dominated the game after the sluggish start - not a fraud at all.
Auburn - Ran into an inspired Wisconsin team, and Tuberville was too busy telling Alabama fans to get their thumbs ready. While this was a surprising score, Auburn is still one of the 10 best teams in the country.
Michigan - just another Lloyd Carr meltdown.
Oregon - they played a top 5 team that will probably be the favorite to win the national championship next year. The fact that this game was close - it shouldn't have been - surprised me.

All I'm saying is I believe ND is a quality team. Is OSU A better program, YES, did they get manhandled, YES. BUt JEEZE 15-20 teams that can beat them EASILY. LETS STOP. From the sound of you OSU Lovers, ND got beat by the NATIONAL CHAMPION. So their perfomance wasn't really that bad. Also for all you guys that want to talk about schedules, maybe we shouldn't have a Championship game then because both teams schedules were very WEAK - OUT AGAIN

FYI - Im not a ND lover - I don't even like them.

Thats why I think they are trying to get it the best two teams of the conference, not the top teams of each division of the conference. To play in the conference title games.

Im a FSU fan, and I think they shouldnt be in the Orange bowl, but they are, so I will live it up.
