    Default Broncos Fans?

How does everyone feel about Tebow being drafted in the first round?

You trade Cutler, who is about as overrated a QB who ever lived, for two first round picks which seems to be brilliant. And then you use one of those picks to draft a guy who will never contribute to your team in any way unless he picks up a few short yardage rushing yards? You have to be pissed right?

It's like drafting Pat White all over again, 1 round earlier, and much slower.

(Pat White's career numbers: 5 attempts, 0 completions, 54 rushing yards)

Filter, did you ever think Tebow was just a product of the offensive system he was a part of? A spread offense, surrounded by the most talented athletes in the country, coached by an offensive genius.

What the dozens of scouts who said he didnt have the right skills to be a successful pro quarterback? You disagree with all of them?

I live in Colorado and this will be embarassing.

The Broncos will be known for hiring overrated quarterbacks.

I HATED Tebow in college. Hes a good kid but hated being preached to everytime I saw him, that being said this is going to work out. He has more heart than anyone in this draft, I hated him but it was amazing how he could make the play every time. Give him time to adjust and he will dominate

Denver is in for some hard times. Their HC is a fool. McDaniels is drafting a squeaky clean team that girls would be proud to take home and intorduce them to mom and dad. Unfortunately, his squeaky clean team does not have much talent. They make a great deal with the Bears, and then throw it away with this draft pick. McDaniels will be fired by the end of the 2011 season, and Denver will be stuck with Tebow. The Raiders have passed Denver up, and Kansas City is even with them right now.

The Raiders have done nothing to show they're better than the Broncos. The Broncos are basically better or the same at every position this year except Wide Receiver.

The broncos are still way better than raiders and chiefs. period.

I expect denver and SD to fight it out again for division title

Why do people think denver is getting worse? From my perspective they are an up and coming team.
How would they be worse than last year?

still have orton + better Oline +still great WR corps + solid rbs + vastly improved dline + progressed LBs, still solid + more CB depth + Excellent SAFs

they have more players McD wants and are closer to his goal of the team and closer to implementing everything they wanted.

there are plenty of head coaches, coaches, players who disagree with them.

from what ive gathered he has no problem reading d's or throwing motion... thats all a bunch of crap
however its not a sure thing hell produce, i understand
but he is better than mainstream anti-tebow america thinks

There is nothing we can do at this point but wait and see. When Bowlen showed Shanny the door, I thought it was a brilliant move. I loved Mike and am grateful for all he did for us... but the same voice can only motivate a locker room for so long. I thought we were a few good speeches away from being championship contenders, and I convinced myself that McD was the man to give those speeches.

I won't lie... I shed a tear when Cutler was traded. All my hopes and dreams were on his shoulders. Finally, after a decade of searching, we had a real QB. Cutler was going to be Elway-esqe under Josh's tutelage... Then that dream got crushed. Hey, at least we got a hell of a deal from Chicago eh? Wrong... well, not the deal, but how we handled the picks. We had the #1 offense in the NFL during Shanny's last year (averaging 12 yards a snap!! a snap!! Look it up if you don't believe me) and a poor defense. And who did we draft to help build our poor defense? A running back and Ayers. I have nothing against Ayers, but trading next years #1 for some second round cornerback whos name escapes me right now was just stupid. The only smart part of that deal was trading our #1 instead of Chicago's.

As far as B.Marsh is concerned... he had to go. Great player, but he already made up his mind that Denver wasn't the place for him. No choice but to let him go.

And that leaves us with your original question. Tim Tebow. How do I feel about Tebow? It doesn't matter. All I know is that Josh put his career in Denver on the line with that pick... and I hope to God he knows what the fukk he's doing.

Technically, the pick we used on Tebow was not form the Cutler trade. The last pick from the cutler trade was used to pick up D. Thomas (Chicago's #1).

And as far as the Pat White comparison you brought up, I don't see them as one and the same. With Pat white running the wildcat, you have no threat of a power run like you got from Ronnie. All the wildcat is with Pat White is a mediocre shotgun. At least with Tebow the power is there. But I think all this is irrelevant. I don't think McDaniels (or McFukko, as I sometimes like to call him) drafted him with the intention of using him to command the Wild-Horses. I think McD believes he can make him into a solid honest-to-God NFL QB.

Time will tell. He's a good kid and I really have no choice but to support him now. I just hope he turns out to be a good QB.

I think he may have already screwed me. Once the schedule came out I was excited to be able to make the trip to Jacksonville and watch my Broncos play for the first time. Now that we drafted Tebow, I'm sure tickets will be hard to come by and $$$.

Cutler absolutely isn't overrated and they should've kept him. They went the opposite way of success and should've kept their pro bowl wr's and qb.

Okay Denver Homers. Just who does Denver have? Orton? Big deal. A QB that can't throw the ball 25 yards. A defense that gave up 325 points last season, more than the Chargers. An offense that just got rid of it's best WR, and scored less points than the Chargers did. A team that threw away it's 1st round pick to take a 3rd round player. A team whose draft was amongst the worst in the NFL. A team that is 3-13 in their last four games for the last four years. Yea, these guys are going to challenge San Diego. Right. Dream on homers.

Orton does actually have a strong.. this myth was widley put to bed, I have sources but too lazy to dig fro them.
Their defense showed much improvement, and was enough to beat the chargers last year
Marshall was also a leech, that drew too much attention and took away from other WRs
Tebow was going in the first round, a few other tems planned to trade up.

The brocos draft was among the best i the league. maybe you think they reached 'reached' to much
right now it dont matter who reached they still selected great players no matter a 'reach'
Denver fixed their OL, WR problems in the draft and got deeper

They are going into the second year in the system and should be better
statistically the previous is true, teams do better, converting more third downs and scoring more points than last year. Offeses tend to rollover while defenses change more radically

This will be the most anticipated storyline to follow in the NFL for a long time...

Never before has there been a player whose jersey sales led everyone else's, and at the same time who most NFL scouts don't even think will be able to play QB!

The whole thing is just amazing, from the incredible college success, to the questions about his NFL ability, to being drafted in Round 1 anyway... can't wait to see what happens!!

I will tell you what will happen. He will be O.K, but he will never see a Superbowl. He is not a good NFL QB. He may play erly this season if Orton does not fare well. My hope is that Denver gets rid of that mistake of a HC they hired, so Tebow gets a decent shot at it.

Tebow did what his coach wanted him to do in college. He is a project and mcdaniels will mold him into something he wasn't in college, and want him to do things he wasnt asked to do in college. Tebow has the right attitude and the ability to learn.

I forgot about this thread for a while, its good to see some intelligent responses.

For starters, I do believe Cutler was remarkably overrated in Denver and it would be impossible to convince me otherwise. And that was my opinion before I saw his performance in Chicago last year. If you are a Fantasy football player, you loved him in 2008. It happens all too often this day and age that impressive fantasy football stats and the hype that goes with it earns someone the reputation as an excellent QB. Cutler is extremely far from it.

As far as Tebow is concerned, he certainly is a hell of an athlete and a nice guy, but I just don't see it. He was surrounded by the most explosive offensive weapons in the country at Florida (not quite as much last year but still not bad), and his coach wasn't too shabby either when it comes to offensive strategy. He was the product of a system. Throw his ability into Josh McDaniels' system and the product could be very ugly.

Anyway, I loved the Broncos trade for two first round picks, and I loved that they picked up my men Brian Dawkins and Correll Buckhalter, so I was really pulling for them last year. I even went out and bought a Dawkins Broncos jersey and wore it to Eagles games. I really wanted them to become a great team, but I really think they really blew it. Only time will tell.

I've heard the he was surrounded by top athletes in Florida but they were also surrounded by him!

And putting him in mcd's system doesn't have to be ugly it might turn out quite well, maybe he become the next product of a system as it were
