Not a Raiders fan, but living in the Bay Area makes me watch them on Sunday. Glad to see the trade, hopefully they can put up some wins this season.

The Raiders have had a solid draft. By far, the best draft in the AFC West. With Denver planning for the future, and Kansas City still a year or so away, the Raiders who play the same basic schedule as the Chargers do, may be San Diego's biggest competition. The Raiders host Miami, while the Chargers host New England.

Al Davis was either sedated the past few days or didn't know the draft was this week

Hey, you have to hand it to the Raiders. They actually didn't completley blow this off-season. While Jason Campbell is bad, he is better, a lot better, then what they had. Maybe with a different offense Campbell can develop into something. They are doing all the little things right. They got Groves for nothing, kept Morrison and Howard, got Wimbley for nothing, they had a solid draft ass well. The big problem is they have too many linebackers now. All of them are good though. The thing is, the Raiders still lack a QB and a guy who has proved he can carry a load at running back. The defense will be good again. 7 wins seems right.

Crabtree instead of heyward bey and this is a playoff team...Good Draft. You gotta love Round Four where Al Davis got to play...well, Al Davis. Not to excited about track star Ford. Maybe him and HB can have fun racing each other at practice or something, but I think he is better than H.B.

Huge improvement over J. Russell. But lets be honest , Russell's momma playing quarterback for the Raiders would be an improvement.

Time to cut Russell. Should have never signed him after his holdout. Should have never drafted him.

Campbell's numbers have gotten better every year he's been in the league and he's used to chaos. It's hard to overstate how much of an improvement over Russel he is. If crazy Al can get him some weapons in a couple years Oakland should start dominating the AFC worst.

It's somewhat of an upgrade, but I've never been sold on this guy. I don't get why guys like Jason keep getting opportunities.

Campbell will not be going to any Pro Bowl games in the near future, but when you see hiw bad Russell was, Campbellis a solid upgrade. This draft was shockingly good. Considering how bad the other 3 AFC West teams did in the draft, the Raiders have a shot to gain some respect in that conference now.

I agree, Raiders finally have a QB. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they won the division, if the Chargers mail it in again.

Was Al Davis sick for the draft??? figured they would have taken the guy with the fastest 40 time. About time they get a dif QB

This has got to be a relief for Campbell. He's had to come into the league wide-eyed and try to develop under numerous QB coaches and coordinators. The guy can make the reads and call his protections on the fly,as he did with Al Borges @ Auburn (watered down West Coast offense). Hopefully the staff will work with Jason (not dictate) to bend their playbook to his strengths. The change in QB work ethic will be quite noticeable: exchanging a lazy moocher for a 80 hour+/week worker. Too bad Oakland doled out "Russell-fare".

Not having Russel there will boost morale if nothing else.

Jason Campbell has always played horrible. They still don't have a coach or any runners so GL with that. You only think that the Raiders had a good draft because it's the first year that they didn't reach and take someone they weren't supposed to.

Raider fan is like the bad kid in class who's happy when they get a great job sticker because they don't start a fire in the trash can.

R U ON CRACK??? DO U REALLY THINK THAT CAMPBELL WILL TURN AROUND THIS FRANCHISE??? SD may be without Cromartie and Tomlinson but we are still a powerhouse

San Diego is certainly good enough to win the AFC West, but they are not even close to being a powerhouse. They had a terrible draft. They have a losers attitude when playoff time rolls around. This group could not win an AFC Championship when they had a much better team. Merriman is nothing, now that he has had knee surgery, is off the juice, and aparently can not beat on women anymore. The defense still has all kinds of holes in it. The offense will feature a back that is a rookie, and who played at Fresno State. That is not a powerhouse team.
