A great draft? I doubt it. They got a great pick in Round 1. No doubt about that. But with no second round pick and a questionable 3rd round pick, I could not call this draft "great" by any stretch.

I think Detroit has done well so far. Suh is obviously a top talent. If Best can stay healthy, their running game should vastly improve, and I really like their 4th round pick Jason Fox out of Miami.

They used their second round pick to move up 4 spots to get Jahvid Best.

Spievey in the 3rd round is tough to measure because he's one of those Juniors who decided to leave early. Like most of these Juniors, they have more boom or bust potential. He could end up having a great NFL career.

I do think of all the terrible teams in the league that Detroit is closest to turning things around.

Agree. But there are still miles behind other NFC North teams.

Objects in the rearview mirror are closer than they appear.

Detroit is headed into the right direction. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if they get close to .500 this year. That would be a huge lift for this franchise.

They're headed in the right direction. Suh is a can't miss who's completely NFL ready.... Future HOF?

All the meat heads who call the local radio stations got exactly what they wanted in this draft.

    1. Suh
    2. Best
    3. The best CB available

I hate this draft with a passion.

I could see them beating the Bears but the Packers and Vikings are just great teams. A winning season would be a huge boost for this team. They might not do it this year but they are close

It wasn't that long ago that Detroit was supposed to be good. They were 7-9 in '07.

The Lions lately have looked like a ghetto version of the pre-Dungy Colts. Above average offense and absolutely no D. The addition of a superstar with a great attitude in Suh should really get them back on the right track. In this league a good team can only be good for so long, and the Vikings don't have too much longer before they regress again. Packers-Lions games are going to be exciting in a couple years imo.
